They should get in line like everyone else.
They need to go home and start over.
If I murdered someone 20 years ago, should I escape prosecution just because no one found out?
Laws are the basis of our civilized life - they must be followed.

Amnesty should be a part of it, but there is a bigger problem here.
There is no way for people to legally immigrate from countries like Mexico...unless you have an immediate relative that lives here (parent, spouse, or child)...or you have a high tech/medical job (and only 5,000 employment visas are given out to Mexicans per year.)
Then the whole process can take years. So let's say you are a man with a green card and you want to apply to have your wife join you in the U.S. Guess what? You'll probably be waiting two years or more (most likely more) to see your wife again, and depending on your status, the U.S. may prohibit you from leaving the country if you want to keep your immigration process going.
We have an immigration system built on racism of decades ago and designed to destroy families. We need to give people a way to enter the U.S. legally to benefit us and them. Everything the government is trying to do now just ignores the real problem.

Amnesty . . . no. That would be a real slap in the face to all the immigrants who have come here and spent so much time and money to respect and observe our laws.
That being said, though . . . there truly is no legal way for a Mexican to come to America and gain residency or citizenship legally unless he already has someone in his immediate family here or some special skill for a job that most Americans do not have. I absolutely understand why they come illegally . . . they CAN'T come legally, even if they want to.
I believe amnesty makes a mockery of our nation's laws, and that should never be encouraged. However, I believe it is appropriate to re-examine the laws of our land from time to time and amend and reform them. Laws are legislated during a particular time and place, and within a set of circumstances and events, in a nation's history. When the time, place, circumstances, and events change, sometimes the laws that were legislated become irrelevant. I believe that our current immigration laws (esp. for dealing with Mexican nationals) are no longer relevant to our national situation, and immigration reform is badly needed.

We cannot reward criminal behavior! If we do, then why have the law at all?
Amnesty is rewarding illegal immigrants for breaking the law - they figure if they hang long enough in this country, they will just get a free pass, and all will be good.
NO AMNESTY!!!! Law breakers need to receive their punishment - if you can't do the time, don't do the crime!

history has shown that finished amnesty isn't the respond. President Reagan already granted amnesty. Deportation isn't the respond, too plenty money. We even have diplomatic business enterprise with the countries those human beings got here from. the respond is greater border secure practices. utility of cutting-edge regulations in place. As for present illegals, deport all felonious criminals. Heavy fines for breaking the regulation, with the money going lower back into the equipment, community service to help the customary community. Our very own government gave advice to illegals. Now they are choosing and determining on which regulations to stick to. it rather is undesirable that a meat packing plant would be raided, with the two mum and dad working there, and get deported at the same time as the little ones are in college and daycare. a number of those little ones being born in this usa are criminal, yet mom and pa are no longer and are actually long gone. those little ones exchange into the concern of the state which gave them the beginning certificates and social secure practices quantity. As for the regulation abiding illegals, crossing the border illegally to flee poverty being their in basic terms crime, examine them in, supply them time to pay their high quality, take English training they pay for, and positioned them on the music to citizenship, or artwork enable in the event that they want. Getting right here legally isn't common, and not all and sundry desires to return to artwork. we would desire to handle who's right here now, then make certain approximately who can come later.

amnesty
edit: What about all the rich white people who have hired them? You can't tell me these people didn't know. They hired the illegals, paid them paltry wages "under the table", and what? They get a slap on the hand? And the people who did all the work get sent packing? Oh! hell no! The employers should be sent back to the countries their illegal workers came from!!!

They should be DEPORTED along with their children and any children their children have given birth to in the USA. NO AMNESTY, NO Birthright citizenship for the descendants of illegal aliens.
They longer they have been here illegally, the harsher the treatment when they are deported(take more of what they have STOLEN/accumulated while in the USA illegally)

There has to be amnesty... otherwise, American economy will just not work.... just imagine the costs America will face if they deport ALL 12 million... and they don't just come from Mexico, they come from so many different countries...
Only give amnesty to the hard-working immigrants who have a clean backround, who have been here for years, and those who are learning English..

Seeing that the native Americans are the Indians, all the rest of people that came here are illegals. They came without visas and took what was not rightfully theirs. I say yes to amnesty.

No, they should NOT be given amnesty even if they've been here 20 years.
That would be like giving amnesty to a bank robber because he's been doing it for 20 years.
You don't reward people for breaking the law just because they've been doing it a long time.

Illegal is Illegal...
Just because they were able to sneak in doesn't mean they should be given amnesty....
If they can PROVE they have been self supporting and are a benefit to our society I do believe we should give them the chance to become citizens.
We don't need any more folks sucking off Uncle Sams tit though.
