I'm a little uncomfortable with most them, but that's mostly because I don't know them personally. The ones I've met (that are REAL goths, not posers) have actually been pretty cool, and had a really good sense of humor.

First of all, I don't think you should want to "turn goth". Please don't limit yourself to a label. Too many young people are doing that, and (ironically enough) the labels are making THEM. Always remember that you are yourself and no change of clothes or music or friends should change that. Also, if you want to change yourself, don't do it just to spite people (a lot of "punk" and "goth" kids do that)
I love "goth" people. (most, at least) Come to think of it, a handful of my friends don't dress in anything but black. I try to love everyone and not judge, but there are people who do. Some people don't like the goth thing because it kinda scares them. You have to admit, there is a sinister, mystic sorta feel to goth kids. If you're going to be "goth" then be prepared to get a lot of weird looks.
Good luck to you, whatever you decide!

Turn goth? Goth is not something you can just turn to unless you are being silly and going out of your way. And if you do that you are just going to come across as someone who is trying WAY too hard. If you like the music great, listen to it and like it and if someone gives you sh*t tell them where to stick it. If you like piercings and tattoos and dark clothing nifty, but don't do it just to try to fit in with something. Whether people want to admit it or not "goth" is a clique just like anything else, at least for those who try too hard. Do what you like, if you do something any other way you will catch the same flack as a person in any other group.

You can't just turn goth. It's gotta be in you. I frequented goth clubs in toronto in my teens and 20's and the culture and lifestyle was so great. It's more then just piercings, tattoos and black liner. Now, I've grown up and kinda had to conform to the rest of society and get a JOB!!! Too many people don't accept when you look different. It's still in me though. If you feel it......... do it!!!!

I don't have a problem with "goth" people. People that choose to style themselves in such an extreme way are takin' extreme measures to be relaxed as a person. So... most all "goths" I've kicked with have been just like everyone else if not more in touch with being themselves.

I will say this. When my Lady and I went to walmart at say 2 in the afternoon and we saw this dude with all kinds of black makeup he sure did look out of place. We laughed about it and wondered if he had a brain. She is from England, very classy lady...and a nurse/practitioner...not a stupid woman by any means...I am a guitarist, well formerly a professional guitarist and have writted works for symphony and chamber ensemble...so neither of us are stupid or ignorant...and we just thought the whole goth thing was totally bizzarre and idiotic. Just our opinion...do whatever makes you happy in the end.

Well, I am goth so I kind of HAVE to like them. I just hate it when people think "Oh, she must be atheist or she must practice witchcraft or listen to nothing but heavy metal." No. That's not true. Goth people are actually pretty open to different kinds of music. I *do* like heavy metal, but I also like hip-hop, pop-punk and lots of other kinds of music. And I'm Christian, so I believe in God and don't practice witchcraft. Just don't try to go to school one day in all black after the day before you wore bright colors. Then you're poser. Don't "Try" to be goth. I hate people who "Try". Just be you. And don't go around saying, "Oh, guess what I'm goth now" That gets annoying. and when someone asks you if you're goth, say, "If I am, why would you care?" And if someone asks you about something your wearing that makes you look goth, like dark eye liner or a chain and lock around your neck, (Like they say, "Then if you're not, then what's up with the chain around your neck?") Just say, "I like it, and since I like it, I decided to wear it today."

Go for it. You should get a tatoo of a spider on your forehead too. That would make you look ultra goth. Also, wear black nail polish and dye your hair black with ONE white streak. Get yourself a hairless cat and you're all set. Good luck! LOVE GOTHS by the way.

I don't understand how you say "i might turn goth". You can't "turn" goth or preppy or ghetto for that matter. Be who you want and be what makes you comfortable.
