I only remember sitting in his lap and looking up at his face, just that one memory of my great grandfather.

p.s. when he was six years old, the President of the U.S. was Abraham Lincoln.

I would go visit my great grandma several times a week when I was little. She was a great woman to say the least. She has long since passed away, over 20 years ago. As of now, I have no grandparents left at all. My last one passed away Dec.8,2004. Sure don't seem that long ago! My only brother also passed away unexpectedly less than 30 days later Jan.2,2005.

My great grandma lived till I was in late high school. She died at 98. My great Grandpa, her husband, was also alive at the same time as me, but died when I was elementary. I knew a woman who was 95 and a great great grandma, (not related to me though).

I met them both many times.

I met one great grandmother several times. Last time I saw her, I guess I was about 13 or 14.

I have. I knew my great-grandmother pretty well. When we were kids, she used to make us those sock monkeys from the brown socks with the white heels and toes. I'm the youngest in my family so I'm not sure when my other great-grandparents passed away. I don't remember them, but my oldest brother might.

I knew 2 of my great-grand parents
One died when she was 98 years old.

I took a picture of her when I was 26 years old with my son, my mother, my grandmother and my great-grandmother.

FIVE generations.

When I was a baby, we took a family pic with me, my mom, her mom (my grandmother), my grandmother's father (my great-grandfather) and his father (my great-great grandfather) = five generations. The two oldest died when I was a small child. My great-grandmother died when I was 18, and my grandmother is still alive.

I'm quite lucky. All of mine are still living (I'm 16), with the exception of my mom's mom's dad who died when i was 12 or 13. All are really nice, and share their stories/experiances with me.
