Sounds like you are frustrated about your difficulties with sleep. What I would recommend is going to your doctor and getting a work up to determine what might be going on. It could be a number of different things; the list is huge. The important thing is not to start medicating yourself with things, and to seek professional guidance on the matter.
Good luck!

Don't worry about it tonight. But tomorrow DON'T SLEEP LATE. Get up at the same time you get up for school. Then tomorrow night you will be tired and will go to sleep a lot faster.
Also stay away from coffee or sodas after lunch time.
I promise if you do it this way it won't be too hard.

* Avoid all stimulating substances/activities such as caffeine and exercise before bedtime.
* Avoid distractions in the bedroom including excessive light and noise, television, alarm clocks, etc.
* Avoid stressful thoughts and feelings before bedtime and while attempting to fall asleep.
* Combat worries and preoccupations about the day ahead by tending to plans and schedules before bedtime.
* Background noise, such as a fan or soft rhythmic music, can serve to ease some individuals into sleep.
* Try waking up and going to bed at approximately the same time every day. This way your body gets into a regular wake/sleep rhythm
* Try the counting sheep (or which ever other animal you like) trick. By the time you get to 200 and something you will be out like a light
sweet dreams!

It's called "The First Single" by The Format. This is one of my favorite music videos ever! funny someone's asking a question about it. It's probably 5 years old, definitely less than 10. and I'm positive this is the song. 100%

Do you sleep late in the summer break? If you are sleeping late in the morning while you are on vacation, you will not sleep at nite.
This is a good reason to get yourself into a schedule of sleeping and waking at the same time every single day.
I must get up at 5 am every morning to get to my job at the hospital where I work. When I get home at around 8 pm at nite, I am exhausted and fall asleep quickly.
If you start making yourself get up at say 6 AM every morning, by the time bedtime comes, you will be tired and fall asleep quicker at nite. Try it, it works.

make sure you aren't using your bed for other stuff before bedtime like reading, watching tv, talking on the phone. however when you are ready to go to bed turn all lights out except lamp beside bed and reading while tucked in the bed always makes me sleepy. Don't drink anything with caffenine in it after 3 p.m. If you aren't sure what all does or doesn't have caffenine be sure to find out. Here are a few things that do: tea, coke, dr. pepper, diet coke, diet dr. pepper, mountain dew, diet mountain dew
some things w/ out caffenine: water, sprite, ginger ale, lemonade or crystal light REMEMBER NOT TO EAT CHOCOLATE BECAUSE IT CONTAINS CAFFENINE--ALSO DON'T EAT TOO MUCH SUGARY FOODS BEFORE BED!!

Try seeing a doctor. I was an insomniac between the ages of 14 and 22. If it doesn't go away, seek help. It can really disrupt your life.

Things to try...get enough exercise during the day so you are tired at bedtime. Don't eat anything too close to bedtime. Keep a book handy at your bedside and if you don't fall right to sleep, read until you get too drowsy to keep your eyes open. Good luck. (Maybe you are just excited/nervous about school.)

Try some Xtra sleepy time tea that you can buy at your local grocery store(green box with a bear with a sleeping cap on).
Also, you can take a Benadryl pill(talk to your parents). I find that works for me. Good luck.
