i haven't smoked (pot) regularly for twenty years, but i do smoke cigarettes. why is it, that you'll be smoking a cigarette, and you'll smell weed? or walk in a room and think you can smell it when you know no one has been smoking in there?

ps. just a reminder for all of you guys that are smoking, i was diagnosed with schizophrenia in '99. and, as it turns out, there is scientific proof that there are links between marijuana usage and sz. so smoke at your own risk!

also, there are alternatives to weed to all of you guys that are interested. from what i understand they're not bad, if you know what i mean. you can find them on the net.

From what I've been able to understand, studies have shown that "pot" in the brains in adolescents (due in part to the THC) has caused 'transient' or temporary 'symptoms', similar to schizophrenia. I would be difficult to say what 'heavy' prolonged use would create!

As far as, the 'smell'? I think it is more in your imagination? It is possible, that you olfactory 'senses' are either more sensitive (*but, since you still smoke, I think, I'm going to 'rule' that out) I know for a fact', that different cigarettes (*different brands---smell different, they may be some brands, that 'trigger' something in your brain, or just smell, funny)

Continue the good work! Maybe, break the 'smoking habit', as well! Good Luck!

I've never smoked it.

You can find a study to say anything. My favorite is 100% of people that used marijuana tried bubble gum first.

That's an example. If you want to say a study has linked 2 things, that's all you need.

I don't smell weed when I smoke a cigarette, or when I walk in a room. Maybe you are craving it, dude.

I used to. I'm worried I'll start cigarettes tho..

I'm not suprised.. Weed, often considered not that bad, has some bad things in it too.. But I'm not gonna sit here and ding it.

I know the feeling tho, I get it sometimes.... almost long for it, but I'm easily addicted...

Yer not alone buddy!

I think one alternative for weed, that is also legal is Salvia Divinorum. Ive never tried the stuff, but I would like to. I read that its quit potent..you can buy it right off the Internet.

well, you know your have schizophrenia, and as you probably already know, schizophrenia is seeing, smelling, and hearing things that aren't truly there. So you could just be smelling weed because of your schizophrenia.

smoking anything is extremely bad for your health and well being. never get into that stuff because you won't be able to stop. you will definitely regret it. i've never tried cigarettes or pot, and im proud of it.

I did until a friend of mine got killed during a drug deal. Nothing is a better or more tragic reality check than that.
