The average church or synagogue or mosque ,in the US,averages close to $1,000 per person a year in there collections plates! of cash$, And that does not account for the other donations they get, like Cars , computers, trips, services for free, church sales, book sales, Private donations, food drives, TV Evangelists , radio Evangelists and Etc,Etc,Etc, there is no accurate way to account for the Real total amount. but it is estimated to be huge in the hundreds of billions of dollars every year, and most of it is tax free. edit to be fair location and demographics is also a huge factor and many, many small and mid sized churches and other houses of worship barely make expenses.and a church in Beverly hills could average 20 thousand dollars per person per year . A poor church in Mississippi could only average 2 hundred dollars per person per year.

Thousands of dollars are collected at the church I visit about 3 times a year. It's a huge denominational church with 4 packed services every Sunday. TAX FREE!! Wonderful isn't it?! It really is amazing how much money is in the "religion" business.

We don't have a collection plate, but we do pay tithing and offer Fast Offerings. Our tithing - if paid honestly is 10% of our increase. We are supposed to give a generous fast offering once per month.
We have enough to pay the utilities and any left over goes to helping those who need financial help. We don't have a paid clergy.
Check out the website if you'd like to know more.

that is none of your business. i dont know, but what other people give to the church to further the work of God is between them and the lord. churches do not get rich from other people, hey help others with the money that comes in. in my church we use extra money in the offering to buy food and give it to those who dont have any. my pastor makes less than 15000 a year. (my dad is a deacon, and he does a lot of the church paper work, in that feild). it does not matter how much a church brings in, it will go out to help others, or to mantain the place of worship.

I think the church collects more then we relize they do. Especially the ones on TV and they don't want to admit it.
I know at smaller churches though they don't make very much. I think smaller churches average 3,000 - 5,000 a month? depending on the month and holiday's.

Nahimana,
Seriously, I don't know. It would depend on the Chruch. If someone is giving for the right reasons:
As a testimony to the value of the teaching they got at that chuch, then the reward is eternal.

The church I went to easily pulled in $80,000 (I used to help count). The pastor and his family lived in a $400,000 house and drove nice cars.... not exactly the way Jesus lived!

None. I don't go to a church that asks for money to be taught about our religion. We give freely if at all.
