My suggestion - if you're giving this to someone in person, consider giving actual cash instead. They can use it anywhere they want, anytime they want, there are no fees, and it doesn't expire! If you're sending it in the mail, cash isn't a good idea, of course, But whatever you do, DON'T buy a Simon Gift card!! They're a real rip-off.

Make sure that you check out the fees, because if you don't use them by a certain date, on some of them interest or fees apply.

The bank and the credit union. No fee at my credit union but there was a $3.00 fee at the bank

There are stores that have them in their own names.

like walgreens, walmart, osco, borders, circuit city, etc.
no fees. no s h i t.
