if it is false what bad comes out of it?
let me tell you.

10,000 deaths a year
corrupted moral systems (if you do not believe as me you are wrong and need to change or die [not always the case but sometimes])
millions spent on false services
mass war
genocide
false propaganda
a halt to a science that could progress us further
the killing of innocent people to please your god
the killing of sacrificial animals
unlawful practices in cults and such
gangs (sometimes)
the immense feeling of invulnerability leading one to kill themselves
shall i continue

Well yes, it is 'false' if you're looking for great truths, and it arguably increases rather than decreases global violence, but it does seem to give strength and hope to many people; makes life more bearable for those who can't handle the thought of their own demise. You use the word “build”, implying that religion has improved over the centuries, but I see it as merely a continual change in superstition.

I see religion as an inevitable human phenomenon. It not only assuages human phobia, but it gives us yet another reason to strut our stuff, i.e., to claim moral superiority over our neighbours. Patriotism, conceptually similar to religion, isn’t sufficient for some people. Patriotism is outside the soul – “we’re bigger…tougher…better…than you guys”; religion goes one step further – “my God’s better than your God, my soul’s better than yours”.

Basically, your question is misstated. Religion is not a building. It doesn’t grow stronger or higher, never becomes magnificent – it just is. Accordingly there’s nothing to destroy. Or to be exact, religion will be destroyed when humankind is destroyed – no sooner, no later. We’re a very flawed bunch, and our inventions will never rise above us. Mark Twain joked that God first created the ape. Seeing great flaws, He then created man. After that He gave up altogether.

My dog – or any other animal – doesn’t pray. She doesn’t make absurd claims about “knowing how to read the Bible” or “waging holy wars”. She just lives…immersed in life 100%. It’s a shame we superiors can’t do that. And we’ll go on being superior until we destroy ourselves.

None. A quick examination of morality systems shows that religions are the least effective or complete, and the major religions serve as a basis for hatred of others, whether of a different sect or for perceived inadequacies within the given sect.

Less promotion of religion for any purpose is beneficial to humans as gullibility, cruelty, and irrationality are not success traits.

The little good that comes from religion is outweighed by the bad. People have simply been conditioned to think religion is good.

because we as humans find that to destroy ones works, empowers us, even if only in our minds. no matter the situation, a thug is a thug, but even they have leaders that rule through coersion or by placing blame and fault with others.

when they prey on those that they blame for the situations of the world, they are empowered by their followers.

not all leaders believe what they espouse, but rather they pander to the crowd. i see it even in the political party that i support. it makes me ill.

Maybe cause we are bored, or think it will help us who knows. But we have to be very careful and not think of stuff that does not make sense. Religion belief is a gift from God and i am so sorry for someone not given that gift to have for life. we each need something in our lives and that is one main stay. please take care and pray for this to happen.

Remember what Spock said in Star Trek II, "As a matter of cosmic history, it has been easier to destroy than to create." That green blooded S.O.B.!

...I'm not sure what you're asking. Are you asking why people would be eager to tear down religion? If so, because it's misleading, manipulative, dangerous and unecessary.

Because we are questioning everything these days. It is basically the thirst for the truth and for knowledge. With all the scientific advances everyone wants things proven to them before they can just have faith and believe. Very sad.

Maybe people could start living life for themselves instead of some non-existant deity.
