"the most striking findings relate to public attitudes to immigration, with the results exposing serious and widespread public concern about current government policy. Many people appear convinced that immigration is bad for Britain, with a significant number calling for borders to be closed completely.

According to the poll, just 14% of people strongly agree that immigration is “generally good” for Britain — with double that number taking the opposite view. A total of 63% say immigration laws should be “much tougher” — up from 58% 18 months ago — while a further 11% say there should be no more immigration."

What results do you think a poll like that would have in the US?

MattMan - I think the developed countries tried opening up immigration without enough thought to numbers, either by legalizing it or ignoring illegal immigration. I think that now they are hit with the huge burdens and consequences and don't want to continue. On the other hand, those in the countries with less opportunity have not only gotten used to migrating, they developed attitudes of entitlement. Those are just my thoughts, though.

i am going to admit it, it really is bloody marvellous that in ordinary words after Merkel of germany and the french Sarcozy admitted that the immigrants from the arab international locations weren't integrating, that Cameron desirous to say something too. We the British then felt as even with the undeniable fact that lets at very last voice what we felt. we were downtrodden through those immigrants, if we dared to say something they'd shout RACISM. It became the most suitable authorities who allowed it to ensue to the actual Brits of this once large united states of america. i am going to in ordinary words wish that now that it really is out that this is been stated through this correct minister, that it wont be placed on the back burner. I have got here across in view that they could use the race card hostile to us the British, that they are getting conceited. One actual bored stiff BRIT.

I think we would be very much like the Brits...

However, I think it's so interesting that the mood around the world seems to be that immigration is bad!

Personally, i think that populations are saturated, and immigration should be slowed or stopped. But, Why does it seem like now more than ever, people are leaving areas and moving to others?

Yes indeed, I have lots of friends in England and lived there myself for a few years, and believe me, they are mega pissed off at both legal and illegal immigration ... legal, because in the EU you can come and go as you please, and with the inclusion of the Eastern European countries into the EU, guess where they all go .... the immigration debate in Britain is every bit as active as it is here, if not more so .....

Polls like that one in the UK have been taken in the USA.

Most show that about 85% want the border closed and illegal aliens deported.

The lowest % I have seen in favor of deporting illegal aliens is 60+%.

Why isn't our government acting???

Pay back is a Bi****, its time for Britain to pay for all the goodies that its forefathers took from all those poor people around the world, their grandchildren want a cut from the proceeds of their ancestral sweat and blood.
