Yes. That way kids can concentrate more on learning than worrying about what someone else is wearing.
Express your indviduality on your own time.

I think so. A lot of parents b*tch about their kids being forced to wear the same thing everyone is wearing, isn't that exactly what they're doing when they are dressed alike with the brand names? On top of it the parents save so much money on clothes for the course of the school year when the kids wear a uniform. I think we've all become so spoilt that we forgot what it was like to live simply. There was a time we had to wear just was designated by a parent. Were we worse off for it? Or if our school required a uniform that's what we wore. No expensive brand names or being pressured into keeping up with the Joneses.

I don't think they should be required. They just implemented that rule in my cities other school district and well I don't agree. I'm glad my sons who are 13 and 6 don't have to use one. Even though it's more affordable I think it's a bunch of bull. It should be left as an option, rather than forced. Any child regardless of what they wear is going to excel only if they decide to not because they all wore uniforms.

Yes. I don't want to have kids for fear that they'll be whining for a pair of $150 jeans or no one will be their friend. Kids were cruel when I was younger and I'm sure things haven't changed. If you didn't have the "right" brand of clothing, you were either ridiculed or avoided. There's always the haves and the have-not's and if they all have to wear the same thing, it'll level the playing ground for kids so they can focus on their education instead of what they're wearing. The fact that I wouldn't have to spend big $$$ on designer clothes for any future offspring would be an added bonus.

yes:
Americans morals are to losely constructed.
It would solve the "what to wear syndrom"
You'd project a more academically loyal student body
It works in the military.
It's promotes unity
don't give me that expression crap, student's can express themselves in many other ways
It will deture the exclusion or ostrisization of individuals for their lack of fasion or fasion choices....emo
More expensive private schools do it so why would it be such a bad idea for public schools
Students will feel more like students and less like the saved by the bell crowd.
It's academic, classy and if you can wear a uniform then your more welcomed into the idea of dressing nicer.

I think its a 'depends' question, because yes, so we don't worry all the time about fitting in, or wearing the right clothing, but then again no, because they never give any options of colors, or styles, just catholic school clothes and granny shoes... so its depends on if they have options for the uniforms.

No, because it teaches something like everyone looking the same... like a mass army, though now all these rap lovers are all wearing these shirts that look like a dress so they will look the same any way... if it wasn't for uniforms I would totally be like so cool though uniforms made me and outcast, and all lame lol

Yes, uniforms should be compulsory. I wore one, all of us always complained that it sucked. Once a year we were allowed to wear our own clothes, 2 person in every class still wore their uniform on that day (we realize they had few other clothes), also it was so clear who were the rich girls and who were not.
Let's all complain and say it sucks and keep making it compulsory.

I love this question!
YES!!!!
Not only do uniforms take away a lot of the reason that kids don't concentrate in school (too busy showing themselves off or looking at other peoples clothes, etc), but uniforms bring order and attention to work. Why do we wear uniforms to work? Why do we wear them in hospitals, and doctor's offices? Because they demand respect and change the environment we are in. Why is America failing in its schools? For many reasons, but uniforms could help bring order, respect and control.

Yes and no, depending on the school and the type of students enrolled at the school. For schools with disciplinary issues, absolutely yes.
