My brother used to live here with my mother and I, but he moved out with his girlfriend. She is Wiccan and has left a pair of her shoes here and I've mentioned them to her several times to take them home, but she has not. Someone told me that it is Wiccan traditional to leave something at a person's house. What's the deal?

She comes over weekly for dinner with my family and she won't take them with her while she's already here, for whatever reason ( hands are full, etc)

I've never heard of this. I have also had Wiccans over at my house, and they never leave anything behind! (Okay, one left some cookies, but I ate them!)
Anyway, if they are stinking up your house, tell her that if she doesn't take them home you will either give them to Good Will, throw them away, or you will start wearing them! (I would wear them. I had a friend leave an article of clothing at my house, and when I told her I was going to start wearing it she took it back!)
If her hands are full, or in a rush, help take them out to her car!

It's a good luck thing. Just keep them in a closet by the front door. She may return for them one day.
I wouldn't worry about a witch leaving random items in your house. I'd worry about them taking something personal of yours. Personal items can be used in spells. Hair from a brush or a favorite stuffed animal...emotional or physical attachment to objects create a bond. Spooky...huh.

It just gives her a reason to keep coming over. For example.. your brother is probably going to get sic and tired of her magic tricks and he is going to move back home. The shoes are going to allow her to come to the house....but the reason will be to see your brother. She has it all planned out, i tell ya.!

She probably just forgot them and isn't too worried about them either...women collect shoes the way I do ex-wives...I'm not in a hurry to have anything to do with them either!

It means that she left something she obviously doesn't value much in your house.
If it bothers you, throw them out. You have already given her ample opportunity to retrieve them.

Just mail them to her! That way she can't refuse to take them. I wouldn't like it if someone left their stuff at my house and never took it away, regardless of their spiritual preferences. Mail them back to her. I don't think it means anything, but it might mean something to her.

Uh, they are forgetful? I'd give her one chance to get them out, if she doesn't, take them to the goodwill store.
