And to those idiots who say it's "more sane" rather than "saner", I just looked it up in Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, Eleventh Edition, which says I'm right, so up yours!

Someone asked for proof. Well here is some evidence... How many atheists have drowned their kids in bathtubs, cut off their arms, failed to take them in for medical care when they had basketball sized tumors on them? The list goes on and on .. You can read all day about occurrences like this with cited sources at www.ffrf.org and search for black collar crimes.

How many atheists are in prisons?

It's a no-brainer that religious people are insane, just some are more functionally insane than others. Some don't even appear to be insane until you start asking them to defend what they believe.

"Science, unlike theology, never leads to insanity."- Luther Burbank

"I believe today that I am acting in the sense of the Almighty Creator. By warding off the Jews I am fighting for the Lord's work." -Adolph Hitler, Speech, Reichstag, 1936 also Mein Kampf pg.65

"I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator." - Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf pg. 46

The German Freethinkers League, which was swept away by the national revolution, was the largest of such organizations in Germany. It had about 500,000 members ..." - New York Times, May 14, 1993, page 2, on Hitler's outlawing of atheistic and freethinking groups in Germany in the Spring of 1933, after the Enabling Act authorizing Hitler to rule by decree

The Nazi's wore "God With Us" on their belts. Adolph Hitler was by no means an atheist. Stalin and Mao may have been atheists, but was it because of their atheism that they done the things they did? If atheism leads to immorality/insanity shouldn't our prisons and funny farms be filled with atheists? This is clearly not the case.

You can pick out a couple of examples of insane atheists, but the history books are filled with insane theists murdering, torturing and committing genocide in the name of their gods.

"With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion."- Steven Weinberg, physicist, NY Times, April 20, 1999

Jesus became both the son of God or an extremely huge liar. there is not any in between. You walk a skinny tight rope attempting to go back down on all aspects of the region. Your concern jogs my memory of a survey of religions direction I took in college. each consultation became a diverse faith, and also you could swear the prof believed whichever faith he became lecturing on that day. As for the grandparents, tell them they prefer to substantiate on. they could proceed to take the youngsters to church and allow you to prepare them something you spot extra healthful as their figure. OR they could end taking the youngsters to church. era. you're the figure so that you've the most suitable be conscious.

No. Take the case of Michael Newdow. His daughter is a Christian and believes in God. Instead of practicing the atheistic virtue of tolerance and letting her believe what she wants to. He has dedicated his life to fighting a God he does not believe exists.
PS. of course atheists don't find God, for the same reason that Criminals don't find policemen.

P.S regarding the ridiculous statement about atheist not killing people. Stalin and Hitler were not Christians, they were atheists.

funny I see "Someone asked for proof.

" You need to check history. Hitler, Stalin, and Mao were atheist. In their countries merely being a Christian unwilling to follow the state religion was a crime many were punished in jail, prisons and Gulags for. It has been stated truthfully that more Christians have been killed for their faith in the 20th century than in any previous ones.

Yeah, at least we don't go around trying to convince people that fairy tales from the bible really happened. I mean, didn't most of us outgrow the belief in a certain fat man who visits children on Christmas Eve? And I don't mean Rev. John Hagee.

Well, that is until the church taught yet another wonderful truthful statement to free people from their sins (see attached from the Baptist church):

Always.

You don't see an Atheist waging an All out war against everyone else. You don't see Atheists committing to many hate crimes (most hate crimes can be mostly related to a persons view on religion or the religion he/she was brought up)

Atheists should run the world because we would not start wars over "beliefs" or "someone belief in a different god then us". To me its stupid to go to war for a GOD, even if one did exist.

BECAUSE If god showed up right now and told me to kill this man next to me because he sinned I would say "Hell no man. Go screw your self and rework that master plan of yours that requires less killings, hate crimes, deaths of innocents because others want to make sure they are on your good side.

God... he can go right to hell for all I care.

**Sorry for the rant.. got a little carried away there**

Hope this helps.

I've known a lot of atheists and some of them are sane and some are not so sane. I've known a lot of religious people and some are sane and some are not so sane. It doesn't matter what people believe, you will always have that.

In extremes, yes....

Though I find that atheists are usually more open minded, realistic and less gullible too

Religion is the path of least resistance, it's easiest to believe what were told and not think for ourselves, but if faith helps you then by all means believe in what ever helps you make sense of and/or grasp what life is to you.

I notice that some atheists and some people pushing Christianity have an attitude problem.

Must be you don't know the people I do. But it does seem that atheists are saner, or is it that they just don't give a sh**??????

That is because atheists seem more logical than the religious. The religious need something/someone to believe in, atheists can be alright to believe in themselves. Not believing in God and believing in ourselves makes us egotistical enough to do that I suppose.
