I have this friend and she like a guy but she just 12 and the guy is 17 is the guy to old for her?!

Again, age is just a number, let the heart decide whats right, but don't let an older guy push you into something your not ready to do, and at 12, you have no clue what your ready and not ready to do.

There are times when age isn't a factor and times when it is. 12-17 means 13-18 this year or next and the guy is in for big trouble then even if he is just accused of doing anything suspicious!
If parents are involved (good parents) and if the couple agree to group date vs. being alone, they could try to have a friendship that could develop into something else when they are say 21-26?
But as a dad of a baby girl, I'd not trust a young man five years older than her...even if i knew him and his family. Temptation can be too great for the boy...more than he knows.
It isn't an issue of trust either. It is an issue of wisdom. The question I have would be more along the lines of, "Why does a 17 year old guy like this 12 year old girl anyway?"

to put it simply YES he is too old, the age difference isn't as important after you reach the age of 25 or so but right now 12 is big trouble

Omg i think she needs counselling she is still a baby try to talk her out of it. All guys want is one thing n when they get it they will leave n break her poor little heart. She just has a crush she will get over him eventually lol

yes you need to tell your friend that dating at an older man is a lot of responsibility and heartach, shes too young to experience that and you need to be her guidance. She needs to focus on her life and schhol work not add more problems to it.

well if the guy loves your friend also...maybe they can w8 for the right time(i mean right age of your friend)so that the can have a normal relationship

It's okay as long as her parents are cool with it. Also if she's mature enough. Watch out when he turns 18 though.

The best way to handle the situation is tuff love tell her to get her mind straight if not tell her parents if they let it continue their the ones to blame. hope i helped.
