In the Bible, Satan *is* called "God".
2 Corinthians 4:4:
4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

*Point to note here is the play of "g" and "G" but interesting enough, there is no concept of Capital or Small letter in Semetic languages.

I suppose that would depend on your definition of what a god is. If god means creator to you, then no, because satan, in stories of antiquity didn't create anything. If the definition is looser and means, "one with cosmic power", then probably, since satan, if he were real, would be a highly mysterious figure. Define god for yourself and decide. If you want my opinion...

Since I am a pantheist, so there is no polarity, just an "ultimate power" that doesn't interest themselves with tiny matters but still overlooks things. I'd be interested in learning what you find in your philosophical search contact me if you want to talk more about this subject.

no satan was an angel. he was created by god for service and rebelled. he was then cast out of heaven into hell. as for the work of god and satan, being good or bad. Its more of a necessary evil. Without evil we would never understand good.

No, silly, he's a fallen angel. Lucifer, the angel of light, who fell to earth when he rebelled against god. And I'm not a Christian. Satan can't be a god because he's a creation of the Christian religion, which specifically states that there is only one God - God - and is one of the earliest examples of monotheism.
Note I said he's a creation of the religion, which is a creation of the men who wanted to promote the religion.

Yes, Satan is a god. Some religions believe he is the creator god as well, and that his god (aka God) is unapproachable by people even in the afterlife.
