This can happen with Zoloft and other related medications. It can go away on its own. But if it gets worse or does not abate after a few days of treatment you should speak to your health care provider about it.

Just the stomach side-effects were enough to get me to quit zoloft! 8 years later, I'm still suffering the damage to my digestive tract!

Use of antidepressants like Zoloft is very dangerous. While they can work, I've found that the negative side affects outweigh the benefits. Frankly, I'd try more psychological treatment and less drugs.

Sometimes, a major lifestyle change can do wonders in treating depression. I found that when I changed my job and moved to a new appartment, I was able to get my mind off my troubles for a while. By the time I was really settled (ALL the boxes unpacked), I felt a lot better about life in general. Sometimes just a new perspective will really change life for you. That IS pretty extreme, but it worked for me!

Ask your therapist if a change like that might help.

This is a documented side effect of Zoloft called mania. In fact, recently, SSRIs were required by law to add a warning saying that they could cause manic symptoms in those under 18. It is silly that they had to add "under 18" because it happens in adults as well. It is a dangerous side effect if a person is suicidal and has caused many to actually commit suicide because of it. (Give a suicidal person sudden energy and there is a very good chance they will go through with their plans!)

Many SSRI manufacturers have been taken to court and have paid out money to people to settle out of court so it does not become public.

If you are going to take SSRIs, please make sure you have investigated them. Here is a good article about them. http://www.oaim.org/antidepressants.html There are a LOT of things about them that we are not being told and they have effects that are being swept under the rug in order not to cut into the drug company profits.

Agitation could be a sign of bipolar. Zoloft can be prescribed for the depression sign of bipolar. Zolft side effects ususally start about after two weeks and go away about a month later. I would call your doctor and let them know about the symptoms
