I have heard that saying too. Just try not to lift weights too heavy for you. If you feel really exhausted by pushimg it up one level more then you should stop and keep it at the right weight or else it might stunt your growth which is a really bad thing. But overall you should be fine.

At your age you are past the point where working out hard with stunt your growth. Kids who work out hard before the age of say, 14 could probably stunt their growth for a little while (as my brother did as a gymnast when he was young).

Keep working out, and don't listen to that crap.. you're getting yourself in great shape .. keep it up.

Growth is purely a function of genetics. It has nothing to do with muscular development.

Steroid use, however, can affect your growth. But I doubt you're dumb enough to try that.

Working out does not stunt growth, steroids do. If you are trying to accentuate a certain muscle group, not working out surrounding muscle groups will make the muscles you want to look bigger, look bigger comparitively.

Not a chance go ahead and do your workout and while you're at may I suggest to give prior attention to your mid-section for that will make you stronger and do serious stretches.
