Not sure what Muddle is, but I just love Shoo Fly Pie! I'd rather have that than Spotted Dick.

Spotted Dick is gross, It is made from fat and dried fruit.Think a big slab of Suet with fruitcake fruit mixed in (birds love it).
Shoo-fly pie is mainly a pie made with Dark syrup and/or molasses and is very tasty.Think pecan pie without the pecans and you have shoo-fly pie. The best Shoo-fly pie I ever tasted was from an Amish bakery in Pennsylvania.

After a rich beef wellington niether would be a good consideration, too heavy and rich. What about a nice lemon syllabub or home made sorbet. Your guests will be well impressed that you have got the balance right!
Good Luck

If you invite me to your party, I will bring a sherry trifle - I think it is lighter but scrummy and most people love it. However, its not my party and I think you should serve shoo fly pie simply because I do not know what it is? Have a lovely evening, be as relaxed as possible, have everything ready in advance (you can with this menu and enjoy yourself. Don/t do elaborate - very seventies!!!

Sounds reliable relatively the glazed ham and Mac and Cheese yet i think of could replace a Smoked fish fry Brisket as against the fowl, additionally yet another facet dish perhaps pinto beans or black eye peas additionally some candy potatoe pie or pecan pie could set it off too! ummm im getting hungry! ;)

if you are planning on appetizers, salad and a main course your best bet for a dessert would be sherbet served with a waffle cooke. the sherbert will clean your guests palette and not be filling. i would opt to NOT go with a heavy dessert.
