Without an "El Niño," the Pacific coast recieves a LOT less hurricanes than the east coast. While technically true the season in a bad year could posssibly extend into November, it is most likely to be good weather from the end of September. (And even September, the problem is mostly from tropical storms, not hurricanes.)

Tropical Storms can happen anywhere between June and November in Puerto Vallarta, but those that turn into Hurricanes seem to happen more around end of Aug/Sept/Oct area. If you go to the national hurricane centre, you can see there has already been active weather this year.
