In my opinion, micro barids doesn't look right on anyone! White, black or other. However, it is a cultural thing and it might look a little like you are trying to be something that you are not. Being ghetto on the other hand is not a cultural thing and more associated with class and exposure. Find out what looks good for your hair texture and completion and go with that!

I used to say no...then the white chick on the movie hustle and flow had micro braids in her hair and I thought she looked really cute with them.

It all depends on the white girl. I've seen it look good and I've seen it look real bad. The most important thing in making it look good is going to someone who can braid straight hair. It's different, and some people who only work with kinky hair can't work with straight and vice versa.

I am an hair weaver and 90% of my clients are caucasian and because of the pencil tip technique i use...
I absolutely think they look loads sexy

A couple years ago I took some youth on a mission trip and we met a group of Haitian youth from Florida. They microbraided a couple of our (white) girls' hair. It look really cute. They tried to do mine, but my hair was too short. LOL
