You will need to sponsor your wife before she comes in the country, and will need a ton of paperwork. A tourist visa is NOT elligible for immigration, because it does not imply intent of staying - if they can find out it was planned out, your spouse will be deported.
I recommend checking the USCIS website AND getting an attorney. The instructions on the forms are tedious, and the bureaucrats will tell you "Sorry, try again, get out" if you are missing a dot somewhere.
You will need to read "Immigration through a family member"

I married my wife from overseas, too, back in 1978. Get ready for a lot of paperwork. Immigration will probably want to have her submit to a background check (depending from which country she's coming) and she'll probably get a temporary visa followed by a green card after that.
Then, if I'm not mistaken (it's been a while!) she has to remain in the country for five (5) years to be eilgible for citizenship. Then she will have to take a test for that. Make sure that you have your marriage license or cerfificate and birth certificates for the both of you.
It sounds like a lot, but it'll be worth it in the long run, believe me, And let me be the first to welcome you to America...you're doing it the right way! And you are definately doing the right thing. America is worth the wait!

Yes. Inquire from the Immigration and Naturalization Services. Follow the step by step procedure as indicated in the manual or checklist. There are requirements, such as documents (ie. Marriage contract, birth certificate, medical certificates, police and court clearances, etc.). I will probably takes some months to get the request/formalities approved.

This is a very tricky and long painful process. So, be prepared to be VERY annoyed by our bureaucracy. My cousin just married someone overseas, and so did another friend. I'd guess a year on average.
Short advice: Don't take any advice on this kind of serious issue from anyone here on answers.yahoo.com !! ...well, except for that last piece of advice. Look it up at the appropriate government web site.

Don't ask here - you need to call the Immigration and Naturalization Services office. Look in the federal government section of your phone book. It's usually the blue pages at the front, but some phone books always do things differently.

A felony (no longer non secular) marriage is ideal. make positive you employ a USCIS translator to translate your marriage certificate. His eastern tax go back plus the employment contract at the same time with his new organization should be adequate. he might want to need to have a undeniable job and earnings in the U. S. previously he's suited as a sponsor. This why the U. S. citizen better 0.5 has to go back and forth domicile solo to set issues up previously making use of to deliver the non-American better 0.5 to the U. S..

How much does a russian bride cost nowadays? If you are an ameican, marry an american. Or better yet go to your "wifes" country and live there. Why would you marry an outsider? You obviously have little pride in your country or your heritage. You know, there are places in the US you can legally buy a prostitute.right?

Please go to INS web page to find out what the new rules are...When I married my husband, three years ago, he came here on a tourist visa and we got married.....We followed every step, that is soooo very important, please get all your paper work ready and have all your ducks in a row...Any skip or lack of paper work can get her application denied.....
Being that it is getting more and more difficult to get residency, you better find out first before you do anything.....Go to your local INS office or visit the web page to find out for sure....Good luck!
