Perhaps the fellow has a deeper understanding of his belief, but believes that if you are ignorant enough of it, that perhaps this movie would serve as a rudimentary Jesus 101 guide. If you watched it, perhaps you would then be able to discuss his religion more on his terms than those of the ignorant (and rather belligerant) layperson that you are.
It's kind of like if you asked, "hey dude with the gun, is the mafia really lame or what?" And he (after mercifully deciding not to cap you on principle) told you to watch a scorsese film or two. It's most likely not an accurate portrayal in his mind, but perhaps gives you a better insight into something that he's a part of.
The moral of this story is that YOU, my friend, have proved yourself the stupid playground bully, not the Christian.
I am not, by the way, Christian.
I just take issue with people bashing on others' beliefs WHATEVER they are. Seriously, athiests, is this the level to which you have sunk? And how have you in the infinite wisdom of whatever fraction of a human lifespan you've lived managed to unequivocably *prove* that Christians (or anyone else for that matter) is any more wrong or ignorant of the truth than you?
Insignificant speck.

The movie is based on the Book of Revelations, the last book of the New Testament. Christians do not get beliefs from Hollywood. There are a series of books written by Tim LaHaye, who is an expert on the end times and the movies are based on his knowledge of what will happen according to the Bible.
The end times also tell us that Christians will be made fun of and ridiculed. Thanks for the proof that the end times are near.
But be of good cheer...you won't have to put up with us much longer. Jesus is about to call us up to His Kingdom...but be warned...it won't be pretty down here after the Holy Spirit is taken out of the world. Turn to Jesus now.

There is a certain prophetic series of events that we Christians are looking for. One is the return of Christ or the Rapture of the Church. The Bible says that two will be in the field working and one will be taken and one will be left behind. This Rapture of the Church and the chaos that follows is what the Left Behind Movies and books are based on.
If the Bible is true, and I chose to believe that it is, then where you catch that terrorist free plane ride, or not, will be determined by what you do with Jesus?

No, not all Christians are stupid.
I would refer you to a book called "The Jesus I Never Knew" by Philip Yancey or "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel.
Strobel is an investigative journalist who actually set out to write a book proving that the whole Jesus thing was a farce. He interviewed experts in many different fields, and in the end, decided that the evidence was overwhelmingly in favor of the stories of Jesus being true.
I would strongly encourage you to read both of these books if you are struggling with your faith.

No, but one must read the Bible and be able to understand it. However, most people are too lazy to even try; therefore, different methods can be used to entertain and educate at the same time. The Left Behind Series are very biblical based. Or you could read the books.....

I asked a Christian about Jesus being a fraud, and he kicked me in the balls.
Be thankful that a stupid movie recommendation was all you got.

It's not what I've become.
But those are good movies, however, I know they are fiction. While they maybe be BASED on some things from the book of Revelation, Daniel, etc; They are not what the Bible says, and I know that.
