Or does merely existing make you a sinner?

The answer is no. You can't be sinless just from never wanting anything, praying, or going to church. Yes, you are born a sinner. But let me explain...

When we are born, we are born in what is called Adam's nature. This excludes the age of accountability (from one year to five/six year olds). To be born in Adam's nature means you are a sinner.

But when you accept Jesus Christ, you are like a new creation. You are still a sinner, but your sins have been forgiven.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
2 Corinthians 5:17

There is no way to avoid being born into the sinful nature. Even if you pray a lot and go to church and put on the 'good person' face, you are not saved by grace. At least, not until you confess your sins to Jesus Christ.

I hope this makes a little bit of sense to you. If not, feel free to email me at rarhodes001@yahoo.com. I will do my best to answer any questions you have.

God Bless!

No several went to heaven on there own accord.
1 know the 10 commandments and obey.
2 know the Laws of Moses (over 600) and obey
3 stay in a state of prayer continual
4 study the bible
5 do this from the age of accountability (about 14)

It can be done, has been done!

Even the slightest thought of evil makes you a sinner.

Even him who "knows " he's without sin is sinful

You are born with Sin but you have to die without it... No prayers or going to church will save you.. Only through Jesus can one be saved and trust in him as the Messiah

Technically, according to the Bible, you're a sinner from the moment you exist, because of original sin and the consequences that followed. There's no way around it if you choose to follow the Bible.

That's the doctrine of original sin, and yes, I believe it. The church is a body of sinners that celebrates the risen Lord Jesus Christ.

we were born sinners, humans are cursed with sin since Adam and Eve sinned in the garden of Eden. Nobody is without sin except for Jesus, that is why He had to be sacrificed to pay for our sin, none of us were a worthy sacrifice.

you would still be a sinner as its not the existing that makes you a sinner but the life you lead. many try to live by the bible instead of through it and sin as the bible is a guide for life to lead.

What about sinful thoughts?
Babies are without sin. There is also something called the age of accountability. You can't really be a sinner if you are ignorant to sin. Human nature is to sin. period. Thanks to Eve and the snake in Genesis. Ever since then ALL humans sin.

What you are describing is a cloistered monk. What a sin it would be not to be out doing something for your neighbor.
