I've been around the web and some sites say that Muhammed was a false prophet and that Islamists once worshipped stone idols. How did people find this stuff? Where did they get such info?

I'm Christian by the way. I've no interest in joining Islam but I do want to know if this is all lies.

To understand and believe it either way you would need to study it yourself and not just take ppl's word on here. You would get all kinds of falsehoods and twists!

Not all sites say the truth. Yes before Islam came into being people did worship Idols. Prophet Mohammad was the one who stopped all the idol worshipping and made them worship the one and only God.
Everything is clearly written in Quran.

Calling Muhammed a faulse prophet is the most insulting comment. It is akin to saying Jesus was just another man. It is possible that people from the middle east did worship pegan gods as did the ancestors of todays Christians. By the way you don't see people praying to statues during Moslum prayers.

I don't know anything about stone idols. I do believe that Mohammed is a false prophet. We know this because he did not point to Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation.

Islam does not worship the same god as the God of the bible. The God of the bible has a son, Jesus, who died on a cross and rose again. Islam claims allah has no son...therefore allah is a false god and Mohammed a false prophet.

The word muslim refers to someone who practices the modern religion of islam. Before islam was founded, the people who lived in that area did worship stone idols. They had a special place in Mecca called the Kabba where they kept their idols and went to worship. Long story short, Muhammad was exiled, supposedly recieved a revelation from god (allah), returned, and conquered Mecca. Then, he went to the Kabba, smashed the idols, and claimed it in the name of god.

I was curious too, so I did a bit of research on my own...it seems that allah is simply the Arabic word for god...any god...
Zeus is a greek allah
Vishnu is a false allah
The Kaaba was a building that housed many allahs...Muhammed chose the allah of his tribe, which is a moon allah.
There is alot more, but it's getting to be Gramma's bed time, LOL!!
Another way to think about this is:
I am a Christian.
If I were going to refer to Jesus in Arabic, I would refer to Him as Allah, because to me, Jesus IS God...the only Allah there is!!

Read history books

Muhhamed was just a normal guy who seeked power ... A priest told him that he could make him a great leader.. So he taught him how to create a religion based on the truth.. People back then would believe in anything that gave them hope... So muslims were born

End of story in simple words.. I don't want to analyze this

Muslims claim Jesus was a prophet but reject all His teachings ..
They reject His divinity
they reject his claim to be the Son of God;
they reject his death on the cross;
they reject His ressurrection..
They reject Jesus is the Christ/ Messiah...
Need i say more...?

The Bible says:
"Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-Christ, that denies the Father and the Son." (I John 2:22)

The Bible says:But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false prophets among you, who shall privately bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, bring swift destruction upon themselves". (2 Peter 2:1),
