Yes-- I am with you.
Basic respect goes a long, long way towards understanding each other. Even if we don't agree on religious beliefs, we are still on this Earth together.

Christians "believe" that the rest of us are going to Hell because we do not share their belief (Rev 21:8). How does that lead to Christian "respect" for our right to believe otherwise? What would this "respect" look like?
Where was the Christian respect for the right to believe otherwise when Intelligent Design was foisted upon a school district and a state?
I could go on regarding several issues (homosexuality, war, pollution, justice, etc)
Modern Christian "respect" looks a lot like bigotry towards the beliefs of others. The exceptions are rare (and precious), but Christianity has become -the- religion for anyone who needs to feel an arrogant superiority over others ('my beliefs are better than yours' sort of thing).
We see it paraded here every day.

Why must most Christians attack Atheists?
In this country, Christians are the majority so I would worry to much. I have gotten pounded more now than when I was Christian. As a matter of fact, I don't think I ever met an atheist when I was a Christan because they were never in my face trying to convince me I'm wrong, giving me dirty looks, keying my car or just avoiding me. Atheist never did that to me but Christians do that to me all the time.
I think we both can play the victim.

Christians should not attack or degrade anyone and to do so is against the teachings of Christ. So are those that do not follow the teachings of Christ Christians?
Christians should be a witness to the world for Christ. In an effort to save as many as possible.

It's a pretty sad state of affairs, but, on the other hand, we get to see one another as we really are...warts and all, as the saying goes.
I am a Christian, but I am ashamed to admit, I am not always so humble and meek as I would like to think I am, certainly not as I ought to be. I get angry, just like any other human being, and then, I say or do things I wish I hadn't said or done. Problem is, once you spew those words, they're out there, and no matter how much you regret it, that's where they're gonna stay.
Like my Granny would say, if you're gonna be a Christian, remember Who you belong to, and Who you represent......

I have never heard an Atheist attack and/or degrade others, especially those of my faith.
Xians on the other hand just love to attack and degrade non-christians. Why you ask? helps them deal with the fact that Christianity is just a mindless cult.

I think part of the reason people are so rude here is because you're hidden behind an alias. No one knows who you are so you can attack and ridicule to your hearts content and no one will come after you. I wish I didn't see so many responses from Christians that don't testify to God's grace and mercy. Our behavior is supposed to reflect our Lord's light. Unfortunately, it doesn't always.

Many do respect the others' different beliefs. The reasonable and respectful people tend not to be a vocal as the others..

who is attacking you? I hear that statement often in this forum. I have never attacked anyone because of what they believe. I am a born again Christian. I share my faith but never have I attacked or ridiculed anyone.
Apostle Paul told us not to argue, but lead in patience and humility. The fruits of the Holy Spirit are gentleness, kindness, patience, humility, joy, faith, love, hope.
I am so happy to be a Christian. I love to share that joy with others.

I dunno...Some christians are uneducated and some arent's as some atheists are educated and others aren't. So it is usually just uneducated part of that culture that do the 'bashing' not the one's who really have found meaning in their beliefs.
