MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE
Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
there have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?”
The Lord replied,
“The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
is when I carried you.”

I always liked the kindly words of Pope Lawrence the Last when He was quoted as saying "Burn them all!" I don't know what context this was said in but I'm sure He meant something nice; although He was Lawrence the last. Hmmmm, I may want to consider this a little more, get some clarity on intent.

Taxation without Edification via Squeakyweal There’s an embargo on shipment in Fargo, and a tax on tea in Taiwan; There’s a levy on levity lacking in brevity so this poem is only thirty words lengthy. said your question, walked the canines, and composed this even as he became snurffling by ability of a pile of leaves. popular because i'm residing interior the prompt. not each and every piece of poetry can stand the attempt of time like the love music For J. Alfred Prufrock, my "genuine" popular, a testomony to quandries and indecision. in comparison to Frost and his determination of roads, some people locate ourselves status at that fork till our ft freeze into the dirt like dinosaur tracks to be stumbled on eons later, inciting ask your self and debate over no matter if T Rex, with it truly is tiny the front paws became particularly a scavenger particularly then the fearsome predator, as its jaws packed with outsized incisors have led us to trust for generations. Frost puzzled about what might want to have occurred had he taken a direction except the single he chosen. Eliot explored the act of choosing. i did not opt for, only enable my canines make the alternative as his subconscious (the position does canines expertise replace instinct? How do we separate both? He became only following his nostril.) wandering led me by ability of woods and weeds. And now he's were given a tick to reveal for it. I wish i might want to stayed on the line not taken (not likely he might want to have captured a tick on the pavement). genuinely, the tick must have come alongside a lengthy time period back because it truly is thoroughly engorged; only exploiting some poetic license right here. ought to were a pair of ragged claws scuttling in the course of the flooring of silent seas. instead there is an 8-legged critter the size of a pea embedded in my puppy's neck which will require a visit to the vet (i might want to eliminate it myself yet favor to verify no matter if it truly is a canines tick or deer tick and he's due for his rabies booster besides). a lot for brevity. next time i am going to publish in pets.

There are three: The first two are confirmations of faith:
Hear Oh Israel. The Lord thy G-d, the Lord is One.
There is no G-d but G-d. He is and was, and evermore shall be.
The other is the first Commandment:
I am the Lord your G-d who has brought you out of the land of Egypt.

My favourite (English spelling) religious saying is that God is the greatest mass murderer in history.
References: Genesis 6:11-17 and Genesis 7:11-24
Some examples:
GE 6:13 - And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
GE 6:17 - And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
Seems to me that God (for you believers) is annoyed with humanity other than his buddy Noah, and decides to kill (murder) every living thing on the face of the earth, except of course Noah and his family - got to have a few friends left.

Mine is the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

"The beauty of religious mania is that it has the power to explain everything. Once God (or Satan) is accepted as the first cause of everything which happens in the mortal world, nothing is left to chance...logic can be happily tossed out the window." - Stephen King

"So we do not lose heart,
Though our outer
nature is wasting away,
Our inner nature is being renewed
everyday...because we look
not to the things that are seen
but to the things that are
unseen; for the things that are seen
are transient, but the things
that are unseen are eternal."
