I used the word doggies to describe dogs/canines and a man told me don't use that kind of word around a guy. Is there some new raunchy meaning for the word doggy?

I do not know why such was said to you. I came from Mid America and doggies means, hotdogs for sandwiches, toes on the feet, in the western songs the cattle driven on the range by cowboys, and stupid guys who act like dogs running around all the time sniffing for the smell of ready and ripe females.

Sorry but that is about all I have heard of in my 66 years of experience OK.

Do have a good day and if you can make something of this OK. I find most just make up their own meanings in words and hear what they want to hear based upon their mind set. I have also heard of doggie or dog style in sex, but why that would make someone laugh in or at your conversation is your guess OK. Maybe you are very sexy and the guy would be dreaming of doing it doggy style.

"Doggy" is often used in American English to refer to a particular position during sexual intercourse. The word "doggy" should not be used in the United States because even though you may be pointing at a dog, the people listening to you will laugh.
