Well, just to add a quick part to this. Gays are sort of "In for it" right from the beginning. They cannot help their condition. In my opinion, everyone should have a fair start at life- no diseases or disablilites, everything down the line you can count as a risk.
For the other part, I agree to some extent. If nobody would have stood up to the Nazis in WWII, you and I would be speaking German right now. In most cases, peace can only be gained through war. But, there will always be someone wanting to interupt the peace, which is why there will always be wars.
Simple as that.

I do appreciate your question and your detailed explanation of your position. I will give mine as my view only.
I also do study the Bible but I am an NPA [no party affiliation] and a "NO" [absolutely no group association in any way in respect to religion or beliefs that I personally joined]. My bible records two statements: If they are not against us, they are for us. and If they are not with us leave them alone.
My friend I have peace with my self and with my God. As far as world peace goes in my view, for get it. The ruler of the world will not accept it permanently. Yes there are some temporary peace situations so it seems, but such is truly temporary.
I can accept the fact there are some in your view that you do not respect. That is your right as long as you keep it to yourself. Once you advertise it or make it public maybe you are contributing to the lack of peace situation. Did you ever think of that?
I accept I am not God, the God of the Bible. I accept that My God knows better than I do. I accept the fact My God is in full control and does have a great Plan. I accept I can not kick MY God's butt and do not even try to get Him to change His plan. So can you not do the same?
My God, the God of the Bible in my view has everything under control and I am just a tool here having been formed by Him from a tiny bit of dust. I am content to accept that and be at peace with my God.
Now if my God does tell me to Kick butts and does make me a boss, that is a different story ha ha. I will get started right away but I will let him tell me who and I will not single out groups to be my target on my own. As far as I am concerned My God is still the boss and for now He does not want world peace OK. It is those "want to take control from God" who are trying to change the plans of My God.
Why not study those words in the Bible that say:
THY WILL BE DONE
ON EARTH
What do they mean to you my friend?
Do have a nice day and do talk to your God about your question and the many answers. Today is a great day to learn some new things.

You don't like anything that goes against the Bible? The Bible certainly does not promise the kind of peace you're talking about. Evil will always harass good (see Revelation). The only real peace I think you'll find (sorry to sound so preachy) is the eternal one found in a personal relationship with God. Other than that, peace between nations, although preferable certainly, is not going to happen forever. The U.S., like every other construct of man, will fall, probably from its own folly.

The thing you might want to think about/look up is the idea that Jesus didn't support war. Those that live by the sword, die by the sword - that's from Jesus. Also, when Jesus was entering Jerusalem on the donkey, He entered from the East. At that time Pilate was entering from the West on his war horse. Do you see the contrast they that is occuring? Pilate was entering with force, trying to make a point. He was telling the Jews not to mess with him. Jesus entered on the other side, on a humble donkey knowing that He was going to die soon. He didn't even permit the disciples to defend Him with physical force.
I've never heard of a non-peaceful, warlike Jesus.

Conor,
Since you are Roman Catholic, I think that I understand you view. But this Protestant thinks that the Antichrist will be the only peace that we see in the Middle East, for three and one half years. After that, all Hell will break loose as God gathers the enemies of Israel so that:
Zechariah 14:12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

well I'm a republican too and I agree that you can't just try and "talk it out" with the enemy or they will walk all over you and know that you aren't a threat.
On the other hand I accept & respect the three groups of people you pointed out. Perhaps it's becasue I live in a very gay area and have learned to accept them and respect their acts and thoughts.
I'm not sure how you can learn to be a little more open minded towards them, but they too are people and you have to accept taht they have feelings and some can't help how they are.
Well, havea great night. :]

It’s perfectly normal to wish to wage war if you’re religious. At least you have the guts to stand up and be counted.
Religion is really just evil in disguise. Religion is responsible for the majority of wars, conflict and murder of innocent life since humanity began. There is considerable evidence to classify religion as evil, and talk of religion (Gods etc) should be banned. Because the records prove over and over again throughout humanity that religion is clearly responsible for crimes against humanity, taking part in any religious activity should also be outlawed and made a criminal offence.
The world would be a much happier and peaceful place if religion ceased to exist. Although there are some decent religious believers and preachers, they are unwittingly spreading evil around our world, and that they should simply keep their beliefs and thoughts to themselves in the best interests of humanity, or suffer the consequences for their actions.
People should consider that the world would be like Heaven if religion ceased to exist, but all the believers and preachers have turned the planet into Hell.
Scientists may well discover that people who are predisposed to the “religious or spiritual” gene are probably more likely to also be predisposed to the “warrior” gene, which would ultimately cause these people to have religious conflicts like crusades and wars. It is already a well known fact that religion is responsible for the majority of wars, conflict and murder of innocent life since humanity began.
If you are patient, I think scientists will soon be able to help you.

People support such things because they don't believe in the same book as you. Just because one book tells you to live your life in one way and that's what you choose to believe in, doesn't mean that same book should apply to everyone. There is no true proof of any religion being true. You should do what makes you happy.
As far as the war question- it is a tough one. I don't believe in war, but you can't just lay back and let everyone attack you. I'm very torn on that one.
But as far as religion- you just have to be open minded and realize that what you were brought up believing may not be right just because that's what you were taught to believe.

I don't feel the need to discuss my opinions on war, as you have admitted to being closed minded, and would rather not waste either of our time.As for how you might become a little more openminded, reaquaint yourself with Matthew 7:1-2.And I would also suggest making a concerted effort to study history.

Conor,
Let me tell you this. We christians are to witness to lost souls. If you don't respect other people how can you expect them to believe in your God? Please don't turn people away. You will not always agree with people but just as we have chosen to follow after Jesus Christ some have chosen not to. In order to witness we can tell people that our God is almighty. He loves each and every one, and would that none should perish. Please remember, there once was a time when you were lost and just because you're saved doesn't mean that you're more covered by His blood than anyone else. Make your unconditional love a testimony to God's call in your life to follow him.
God Bless You
