I asked my vet this very question this week.
I work a lot and mine is home quite a bit by herself - his answer: "Cats are solitary to the same degree humans are. They don't mind the time to themselves at all and sometimes prefer it." So, while you're away, don't worry at all - she will be fine.
Enjoy your trip!

I have three cats, when I am gone all day I leave a radio on. They are just like people and get depressed and lonely to. Leave plenty of water, food, and toys around, and perhaps something with your scent on it. I went for a 2 week trip once, and my cat didn't come around me for over a month. She felt like I had abandon her, she also seen me all day having constant attention. I found out if you leave something with sound on ex: stereo ( on low) or TV it wasn't so bad. I even had someone there to check on her and stay at my home but it didn't matter, the fact I was not there made her upset. Now i have learned from my mistakes and leave something on and a shirt, or blanket on the bed with my scent on it. Seems to work and keep her happy as well as my two other additions to the family. Other than that have fun!

I have 2 that seem fine, 1 that seems upset by being alone. Some cats, get this, like being with their owners! I have heard experts say if you are going to be gone a while, put on a radio in the background. (I've tried it on mine, it works) They hear peoples voices, & feel less alone. True they don't have P2's or X-box, & can't read, but their imagionation & a few little toys or boxes serves to pass the lonly time.

Most cats sleep about 20 hours a day. She will be okay. Don't worry about her. As long as she has a clean litter box, food and water and your daughter comes home and is with her in the evening.

She will probably not eat too much and will definately be mad at you when you get back, but no harm will come of it. I used to sit for my mom's cat and only spent a few minutes every day and gave it fresh food, water and cleaned the litterbox. Spend some extra time with her when you come back.

I'm sure she will adjust. Try leaving the TV or radio on for sound company. On any condition, I'm sure she will be just fine. I have left my cat alone for a few days, and he was just fine.

Most cats stay awake all night playing, and sleep during the day. She probably won't care one bit if she is alone.

.Cat do not pine when you are gone and they are alone. They will be glad in their own way to see you but they do not suffer separation anxiety.
