Adam and Eve had many children, sons and daughters. Adam lived to 900 yrs old, they could produce a lot of kids in that time span. They did inter-marry. Brothers married and had relations with sisters. I know the incest thing comes up, but to set the records straight, incest only became against God law when the law was given to Moses. At the beginning, the gene pool was pure so inter-marriage would not produce genetically inferior children. But, as time wore on and the gene pool became more and more corrupted, marriage and relations between close relatives began to cause the mutations and problems we would see today, so the practice was stopped to prevent these problems. It also wasn't necessary after a certain period of time.

Yes, it is mentioned in the Bible that Adam and Eve had children and that they too had offspring. However it does NOT say that Adam and Eve were the only people God created. He COULD have created another couple, giving Adam and Eve's children another family with which to procreate.

Just like little yeast cells, they budded.

Come on, anyone who has raised any life form more complex than earthworms knows you need genetic diversity to produce healthy, non-inbred offspring.

The Genesis story is an allegory, and not meant to be taken literally.

I ran across this early this year. I loved reading this account of "The forgotten books of Eden"
I am not sure if it is true, but it made since to me. And it did not say anything bad. It gave me a deeper understanding of Adam and Eve. It really touched me. I pray you enjoy it as much as I did. Just go to the end of the page and click next chapter. And go to index to see the other books.

From what I understand they reproduced with each other. In the beginning He told the people to reproduce to populate the land. And since they were the only family, it must be. And, it wasn't until the new testament that it was made clear the rules of sodomy and incest at Edom.....I think.

Adam & Lilith. Lilith gets cast out because she refused to submit to adam, having been created as he was.

Adam & Eve. Eve gets to stick around. She likes to be on bottom.

Adam & Eve, Cain & Abel. Cain kills Abel. Cain goes off and founds an entire city.

Uh... with who? Eve? Lilith? Oh wait... Christians don't know about Lilith. Silly, it'd answer that particular question.

But what about poor Seth? Did he have to share Eve with Adam? Or did he have sex with the demoness Lilith? Or one of Cain & Lilith's children?

Wow. And christians think us atheists are crazy.

Between JP and BrotherMichael, you have the only two answers. Actually, Lilith is a Jewish myth and I suspect was declared Djinn because she was the first liberated woman and wouldn't kowtow.

Only one way, brothers and sisters mated. Back then, there were no recessive genes, so this wouldn't have been a problem. Any restrictions on siblings marrying didn't come until much later.

It is a blessing that we all are the offspring of the same parents, otherwise there would have had been such deep factions within us, that everybody would be killing the other in name for the sake of their parents. But since we are from the same parents, there is a relationship of 'brotherhood' in all of humanity.

Prophet Adam (Peace Be Upon Him) got married to Eve, and when Eve started giving birth to Their offsprings, She used to give birth to one set of twins at a time, one boy and one girl and they were considered brother and sister only to each other, and then at another time another set of twins, again one boy and one girl and they were brother sister only to each other ............ but the two SETS of twins were NOT brothers/sisters to each other. So, a boy of one set was allowed to marry the girl of other set, and a girl of one set was permitted to marry the boy of other set, but NOT marry WITHIN the set among themselves.
Most important of all if GOD gave them the permission to marry, then who are we to oppose to it? But GOD removed this permission soon after THAT generation and disallowed to marry among our siblings for the all of generations to come after That. So, we are among those who are NOT permitted to marry among our siblings.
I hope i made it clear enough for all to understand. And then, you people also have an example of Abel & Cain ........... dont u know the background of that?

I sort of choose not to believe this part of the bible. How could to people polulate the world? And we start getting into incest and stuff now if you think about it.
