Americans generally don't use much of the english language (i.e. doesn't work instead of incompatible) and also have more simplistic spellings (color vs. colour) do english people dislike Americans for this?

OK first off, we are in America..we speak American. English is for the Brits. :/
Second, they don't speak actual Spanish in Mexico!! They have their own adaptation.

I guess you are referring to the English speakers from outside the USA. I can't speak for everyone, and am only a Canuck which is almost linguistically as bad as American, but the use of language is not one of the top items on why people dislike Americans,

As an American living abroad, I was once complimented by a tipsy German as having the "least objectionable" American English he had ever heard.

I thanked him, of course, and then ordered something perfectly gruesome for him in Japanese (which he didn't speak).

I really hate the British snobs who bash American English. Their language isn't any more like William Shakespeare's than mine is.

From my experience, they don't mind the way we talk...unless some idiot says, "you spelled color wrong!"
