Is it a watery fluid or a gel like fluid? They will have a gel like discharge sometimes a couple of weeks before they have babies. She should have a week to go. If they are born too soon, they may not make it.

gestation is anywhere from 60-63 days but I just had one give birth at day 66 to only 1 puppy this time, and she was large, (she had 5 in her first litter) and she was leaking a gel like fluid from her cookie (as my wife would say) or vagina, for almost a week so keep watching her from day 60 on. And if you have valuable furniture have towels with ya if she is a lap dog or if not before she will want to have attn. especially now. Oh, if sooner, then keep a watch, because you may have to help her break sacs and clean the newbies, My lil girl had them in my sons bed at 3 am and luckily my son jumped up because of the noise and wet in his bed so set her up now with a box, crate, kennel or whatever so as not to go through the same, because they will go and hide to have them and you may not see where!!

They are usually pregnant for about 60 to 63 days, but can go as early as you are talking about. I would keep a very close eye on her and not leave her alone for very long. Hopefully none of the puppies will get stuck and you have to have a c-section on her. Good luck.

Is it a clear gluggy/sticky discharge. This is normal. When it starts to change color, it can go from yellow to even a green color, she will be ready to whelp.
Check her temperature for a full drop, this happnes normally in the last 24 - 48 hours of pregnancy.
If the discharge turnes a horrible color after the due date take to the vet immediately.

it's probably like a woman breaking her water...except, for people, if your water breaks that means labor will usually happen within 24 hours or so. dogs might be able to go longer though...but yes, when your water breakse, it isn't a big gush all the time, mine was a trickle...then it was a gush. but yeah...i'm not a dog, so i wouldn't know what they go through. good luck.

I would say you have a week at the most, keep her comfortable and not just a whole lot of activity, because if they are early she will need help.

I'd take her to the vet on Monday. Just to be sure. Chi's are so little, I've heard whelping is really hard on them

It's the pressure from the puppies causing the problem. I'd watch her carefully now.
