Anbesol might help. I have also broken a piece of aspirin and laid it on there. Someone once told me to swab whiskey on it with a q-tip, but I never tried that. See if you have a free dental clinic in your area. Most all cities have them now, where the dentist volunteer versus being paid. If you are not sure where to look, start with Social Services in your area. Best of luck to you.

I hate to tell you this, cause I know that you already said finances are a problem right now, but this is not going to go away. You broke the tooth in half. If you broke your leg in half, the pain probably wouldn't just go away. A tooth is no different. If you can not afford to repair the tooth, if it is even repairable, then please get it pulled. You have an infection most likely. That is where the pain in coming from. A normal healthy tooth won't just break in half, so there was either a crack in the tooth already or a huge cavity.
Please don't believe the "place an aspirin in the tooth" story that someone may tell you. This is an ol' wives tale. Clove oil will sometimes help, but if there is an infection developing you need antibiotics.

Look for a dentist at a free clinic or one who will let you pay the bill off over time. You can try oil of cloves drops to numb it but that kind of pain (from a broken tooth) doesn't "heal.".

use a mouthwash like Dr tishners(spell wrong) or Listerine. let mouth wash set on tooth for a while,it will be hot but it may help. if you have an old country store around you can get this toothache med. called old hickory or red cross toothache. you can try to put salt on it, crushed nerve pill, or aspirin. go get it pulled or fixed asap. i know how you feel I'm sorry. good luck
