The Israeli attack against Syria is an attempt to divert public opinion from the sufferings of the Palestinian people, arising from the occupation of their country.
Most of the answers are Israeli attack against Lebanon and not Syria. I say its Syria and not Lebanon. Following quote will prove
Sunday, Iran's powerful former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has denounced what he said was an "insolent" Israeli raid on Syrian soil, the official news agency IRNA reported
"This is insolence on the part of Israel, which stamps on international law and order by launching an air raid on a great country, Syria," the agency quoted Rafsanjani

Nobody takes anything Iran says seriously anymore, unless they are talking about nukes. The way it sounds, the Israeli raid was justified because Hezbollah was trying to recieve arms shipments. The US remains quiet because they support Israel's decision.
By the way, the raid took place in Lebanon, near the Syrian border, not in Syria.

Are you actually suggesting that because Iran condemns Israel that the U.S. should? Israel made a raid on positions in Lebanon not Syria...although Syria wouldn't be a bad idea. Neither would Iran. Both of them need to go.

A) The raid was not on Syria.
b) Iran was mad because they were using the ceasefire to smuggle weapons into Lebanon. A exact replay of the bombing halts during 'Nam. We stopped to talk peace. They took the time to restock fre from air attack. Same dumb move to apease the peaceniks. In 6 months the rockets will fall again.......

Because Iran hates Israel.
And because the US doesn't want to have to choose between telling Israel that was stupid (even if it might have technically been allowed) and giving Hezbollah credit for not striking back immediately.

Why should they?
You think its wrong to take decisive action in defense of your population?
If you do fine; but you will eventually end up needing people willing to do so or you will find yourself at the blade of a terrorist willing to kill you.
