I've been single (and not looking) for almost a year now, but I think I'm starting to miss having a serious boyfriend. It seems like the grass is always greener on the other side! Someone get me out of this mindset and remind me of the benefits of singlehood.

I know where your coming from. I've been single for almost a year too. Sometimes I love it sometimes I hate it. I miss having a boyfriend but at the same time I love being able to do whatever I want without anyone to answer to. Everyone keeps telling me to enjoy being single and I'll fall in love again. So just enjoy yourself.

After being married with kids for 20 years,I've been single for almost 26 years & am not sure I'd ever be fit to live with again! When I was married,I couldn't imagine living alone & now I can't imagine havin' someone here all the time but I'd like to try it! I think the longer we live alone, the more set in our ways we become. I quit drinkin' 28 years ago this Sunday so I don't go to bars. Actually I'm home alone on my 80 acre farm 99% of the time. But my mind & TV & PC keep me from lonlines & boredom. And I am somewhat active in the Democratic party.Boy are we gonna kick some rep a$$ in November!

Ok I'm not 24 but will be in a few months. I have been single for about 2 years and am totally content. I do get lonley and want a boyfriend sometimes but then I wouldn't be able to do all the fun things I do.
I go out drinking, dancing, meet random guys, travel, and am enjoying the heck out of being single. If I had a boyfriend I couldn't do all that stuff.

So get glammed up, go out drinking and hook up with a hottie tonight!

Great question! Some of the benefits of being single is that you can leave & go wherever you want and not worry about being home at a certain time or worrying that your bf might get mad if you went to that certain place, or mad that you didn't come home to spend time with him. You save money that you don't have to buy him gifts or entertain him on his birthday or Christmas or valentines day. You save yourself unhealthy heartache and depression when he decides to be dramatic and hurt. It's easier to just be responsible for yourself and your actions being single then having to worry if "he's okay". You don't have your phone being blown up all day long, him pestering you. Plus, there is so much more time to devote to your hobbies or making new ones! Scrapbooking, painting, what about all those books or magazines you've been meaning to read? How about all the chick flicks he doesn't want to see? The list just goes on and on. :)

I hate these age based questions. But I'm answering anywayz. And rather mature for my age which is 19. So I'll say this, the greatest benefits of being single are being your own person, you don't have to worry about anyone cheating on you, don't have to worry about any lies, cept the ones you tell yourself. You can also have more time for yourself and get to know yourself better without some guy asking something stupid like "don't you already know yourself?" And you never have to worry about not going out to clubs or dinner because you can always do that instead of waiting on the guy to feel up to taking you out.

There are none really,,, just the superficial ones. Next year you'll be 25,then 26,then27, and so on and so on. My answer to you would be to find a BF not based on looks but by how comfortable you are around him as a friend. Besides, friend sex is better because they actually care about what you get out of it. Just find a guy friend that you can buddy up with to go have some fun with, if anything happens, it happens. If it doesn't , it's still cool.

You can do whatever you want whenever you want and not have to think about letting your bf know you will be out of town or not available to talk on the phone. You can spend your money however you want, get a tatoo without wondering if he will like it. You can flirt with as many guys as you want without those annoying guilty feelings. You can move to a new city. Crap, I am starting to miss being single.

loL! I do the same thing. Actually, I'm 19...but I'll answer anyway. the best thing I believe is not having someone clinging all the time, demanding more time from you than you have! also the freedom to hang out with various guys with no committment is good bc you get to see what you like, test things out meet different ppl instead of just one person all the damn time

You save more money than you will ever fathom.

You will be able to watch any movie you want.

You will be able to listen to whatever music you want.

You will not have someone expect more from you than you already gave them.

You get to eat wherever and whatever you want.

You will have a peace that you will not be able to have if you are not single.

You will not have to deal with the heartbrake of break-ups.

You will not have to hold your nrgative thoughts inside.

You're free to do what you want ....or don't want. You're in charge of what happens to ur emotions (and money). You don't have to wake up seeing an insensitive jerk beside you each day. You control the pace at which ur life goes.

Of course all these reasons lead to a lonely existence...but u don't guys around, remember?
