because when you're young and that's all you know how to do, people take advantage of it and they screw you over and hurt your feelings. eventually you put a guard up. hopefully you'll meet someone who is worthy of your trust

Because there are people out there who will completely screw you over. I guess not trusting people is a GOOD thing because I previously trusted anyone and got f...cked over big time. Now people have to EARN my trust. I think it's only fair. Take care.

You might be able to actually, really trust one out of 20 people you ever come across, and even that takes time.

Because no matter what, they always seem to hurt you. It gets harder and harder to trust again. I can relate. But on the plus side, it's better than being naive and trusting everyone.
