Advance travel is paid at the 80% rate; the remaining 20% is paid when the travel voucher is settled. Also thank your husband and thank you. I know it's not easy. Good luck with that new baby and don't push yourself too hard!

Your husband can request an advance travel. You will get the money up front then when you get to his duty station he will have to do a travel settlement for the difference.

Your husband can request advance travel pay up to 80 percent of what it would be. When you arrive at your next duty station he then must file his settlement papers and if any money is owed he will then receive it.

It's up to what you tell finance to do. They can estimate your travel costs and advance you the money, and then you can file afterward for adjustment, or you can just file afterward. When your husband meets with finance as he is outprocessing he has that option.

p.s. they don't pay for gas per se, they just pay you for the milage, which they figure out for you.

You will probably have to pay up front, but it is possible to get an advance.
