Call your mom. Apologize for not calling her on her birthday. Steer the conversation away from the issue of you living with your father -- if she tries to lead it in that direction. One way to do that is to ask her to pick a time when the two of you can go out to dinner and talk about the current living situation. Tell her you understand how she feels, but you want to spend some time with your father too. All parents feel hurt when a child chooses to live with the other parent. I would worry if they did not feel the hurt. Something else you may try is to establish a day for just you and your mom. Pick a day that the two of you can go out and do things moms and daughters like to do. Do not allow anything to get in the way of that day. Offering her this should help her to feel like you lover her and care about her feelings.
Good luck!

your mom probably thinks you dont like her.. or the way she was a parent to you. you need to call her and when she tries to make you feel bad. just tell her straight up to stop and listen to you. if you forgot her birthday take her somewhere out to eat and just talk with her it will probably make things better between you two

I think you should definitely call your mom, and wish her "Happy Birthday." People going through a divorce often behave badly. It's a very stressful time for the whole family. Just keep trying to work things out with your mom. It will work out eventually.

This is an ouch! I know that is was a mistake that you forgot the B-day, but call her anyway and tell her Happy late Birthday and tell her you love her.
This is really like double whammy, I mean you going to live with your dad and then forgetting her B-D to boot.

i think that you should call her.
she was probably really hurt when you moved in with your dad. thats probably why she makes you feel bad.
forgetting her birthday probably hurt her feelings pretty bad too.
just call and talk to her and really try to open up to her and have a heart to heart. thats probably what she needs most of all.
and make sure that you tell her that you love her too.

yes you should call your mother, you only get one mother in this life. If she hangs up write her, tell her what I just said, "only one".
your mother should also learn to be a forgiving person.
There is a book I suggest your mother read, Choice theory by dr. William H. Glasser. a lot of people would do well to read this book, it suggests we use choice instead of trying to control people with our tantrums. Also consider your mother may be trying to hide hurt with an angry facade.
Be sure and tell her that you love her no matter what, and it sounds to me that you do.
The letter might be the best idea.

Call her. Tell her you're sorry you missed her b'day. Let her know you still care about her, but don't let her make you feel bad for anything. You have the right to be happy, too.

Please call your mom right now. She is the only 1 you have. If the conversation turns ugly just tell her how you feel and tell her even though your with your dad she is still your mom and you love her.
