This is a job for a crock pot. Season and dump in pepperoncini to your liking - some broth is good, too, then let it go on LOW for 10 hours or on high for 4 hrs. You'll love this

Spend a couple more pennies and get a better cut of meat. Salt and pepper throw it on the grill. Charcoal and wet wood chips and turn it once.

The best way to cook chuck steak is not to buy it...

If you must like someone said: dust with a mixture of flour, salt, and pepper. Use a high temp oil and fry it. Make some country gravy. By adding just a little heavy whipping cream to the pan and reduce until thicken. First taking the steak out and setting aside. Place the steak on top of roasted garlic mashed potatoes. Smoother with gravy as a vegetable how about glazed baby carrots.....or a nice dinner salad......Ben & Jerry's ice cream for dessert.

Just some thing different.

Get Adolph's unseasoned and unsalted meat tenderizer (blue cap) and follow the directions (pierce about every 2 inches and dust the meat with the tenderizer with the amount they tell you per pound). Apply some fresh black pepper to the steak. Throw it onto a very hot outdoor grill and grill to your choice of doneness,
I tell you, it's amazing what that tenderizer does to a budget cut of meat. It is really good! (if you can't find the unsalted tenderizer, the salted version is OK, but watch out, it's very easy to over salt it)
