That is the very question that the Israelites asked of him at the very cross you speak of.

It is that question that keeps them from understanding that their true Messiah was nailed to that cross.

But to answer your question, you would have to go back to the old testament and learn a bit of history. It was fortold that God would send the Messiah in this manner, it was fortold that his own would not accept him, and it was fortold that he would be tortured and killed in this manner. Psalms actually described his wounds and nail marks.

God said it was to happen this way, nothing we could have done would have stopped it. The devil himself tried to stop Jesus from carrying out this prophecy, but could not.

The bible states that there were legions (many) angels waiting to stop this if Jesus asked, so God did allow room for Jesus to say no. But even though he asked God to take this burdon off his shoulders, he also said only if it is your will. Jesus knew his spiritual will and also felt his fleshly will. He chose his spirual will and because of that , we all have a true gift of Salvation just waiting for us to accept it.

Much better than an uze or a mach 10.

Hmm well it sounds like you really don't know about God. He had to die on the cross, So we could have forgiveness. See someone had to be punished, when a child does wrong what does the parent do? But the fall of man was much worse, and God can not have a relationship with anything that is not pure and Holly as he is. Look at it like you make a robot, the robot starts doing thing's you really hate, what are you going to do? Lucky he is a little more kind than all of us. The sad thing is that most people just want to live a filthy life and do what they want. But it wont go on like that forever.

He wasn't trying to kill the people. He was trying to teach them. He could have made an uzi or a mach 10 as you would say, but that wasn't His purpose. His purpose was to be your savior and He had to die on the cross to do that. He also gave you the free will to ask your question and me the free will to answer it. As far as the wrath of God, it isn't time yet. I believe that God will save me before the wrath is poured out and God destroys the earth. He said it isn't for us to judge anyone as God has that right by Himself.

Jesus could have defended himself, but chose rather to obey his father in Heaven. It was part of the plan for Jesus to actually suffer and die, otherwise our sins wouldn't have been paid for. It was an act of obedience, sacrifice and unselfish love.

There were many other miracles that Jesus performed, read Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. Also Jesus said that there would be miracles performed in the "last" days too.

Very exciting, yet there is yet one greater reason there are no longer the different information. yet this argument is one that I doubt that any skeptic of Christianity might evaluate, via fact it shoots your theory remarkable down the drain. I The "paper" that replaced into utilized in that day and age did no longer final very long. the percentages of any manuscripts having the flexibility to be preserved for 2000 years are miniscule. the actuality that the Bible replaced into copied could inform you the magnitude of that e book, as against the different manuscripts of that day that disintegrated with age. at the same time as the lifeless Sea Scrolls have been salvaged, it replaced into via fact they have been hidden specially boxes for some years in a cave and it rather is quite unusual that those information have been able to be preserved. those manuscripts have been preserved and would't be often accessed via fact they'll fall apart if uncovered to the climate. it rather is why maximum of scholars have been mandatory in those day and a protracted time to maintain the manuscripts via copying the manuscripts. non secular pupils does not have been drawn to saving all beginning and loss of life information, so i do no longer purchase the thought in basic terms via fact there are no longer any Roman information from that factor nevertheless saved right this moment skill that Jesus did no longer exist. It in basic terms skill that the information if written in the different manuscripts might maximum in all danger have disintegrated. in case you like a source, inspect the renovation procedures of the paper throughout the time of that factor era. maximum lasted approximately seventy 5-a hundred years on the main.

Wouldn't that kinda go against the entire point of His coming to earth in the first place. He knew He would have to die in order to provide a way for man to be saved. If He saved Himself then men would still have no way to God. Jesus wouldn't have wasted His time by being so stupid.

If you read the Bible read John 3:16 For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son. This means he was a sacrifice.
So who so ever believes in me (Jesus) shall not die but be given ever lasting life. You see this had to happen for us to get into heaven. Jesus had to become a sacrifice for us, a blood sacrifice so that we could be admitted into heaven.

If Jesus died for our sins, does that mean we can do what-ever we like, because Jesus has already paid for our sins?If not, then how come we can still be sent to hell for our sins?I think God is a bit of a monster,I mean would you allow your child to suffer one of the most gruesome deaths imaginable for any cause? My only concern would be my son's welfare,fu*k the world.(Yes,I know, you'll say that's what proves God's love for us).I wouldn't want to have anything to do with some-one so ruthless.

Jesus' purpose was to die for our sins. He had to suffer. The true miricle is God sending His Son to die on the cross. If He hadn't, we would not have an option to go to Heaven

Jesus showed us what loyalty to God could cost, and that He, as God made man, was prepared to go through it Himself as an example.
