i think it boils down to what kind of a person you are and your heart. denominations mean nothing except to their members. do you believe in god or your church? i think if you really look deep down inside yourself you will know what to believe, you dont need someone else telling you.

yes it matters! Because there cannot be two truths. One is lying. Is hell the grave as the bible says it is or is there a literal hell where you are kept alive just to torture you not for a few years but forever. What kind of a father would do that?
Are there going to be people living on this earth like Jesus said, the meek will inherit the earth or is it going to be burned up?
Can't both be right.
If holidays of pagan orgin and therefore lies or are they not?
Is there really a santa clause? Easter bunnie?
Was Jesus really hung on a cross? No
that was brought in during the 3rd century by pagans.
The true religion would not teach you lies and there can't be two truths. Either it is or it isn't.
John 17:3 says that taking in knowledge is the key to understanding the bible and to everlasting life.
Either there is a father and Jesus was his first creation or he wasn't. col 1:15 and Rev 3:14
The Lord's prayer said Hollowed be my fathers name.

No. Absolutely not...

Confussion issues of the Bible is very simple to understand. If you read 2 Timothy 2:15 (Kind James Version)... "rightly dividing the Word of Truth..."

You cannot understand the Bible is you read and do whatever what is commanded there. Do you agree? :) Ok let's put it this way, every Word in the Bible is for us to learn and for edification but not all the things their is for us to obey... Got that? :)

Example:

a) Noah built the ark. Are you also going to build the ark? :) I think not.

b) Adam was commanded to eat fruits only. Are you going to eat fruits only in this period?

FYI: The Bible has 7 different dispensations (periods) which has its own distinctions. This will help you understand why, what, who, where questions.

I don't think it matters what denomination a person is in, as long as he or she believes in Jesus and loves God. I was basically told I was going to hell by my ex because I am a Methodist, and he is a Southern Baptist. Everyone in his church says that people who aren't members of their church, and who aren't Southern Baptist, are going to hell. I think that's bull and I honestly don't think God cares what denomination a person is in. I don't even think he cares if you're Catholic or Protestant. No church is better than any other as far as closeness to God and you are no more likely to go to Heaven by being a member of one denomination instead of another. Christianity is about love, not dividing people. Practice in whatever denomination you want, just as long as in the end, you love God as a Christian.
P.S. - I respect that other people prefer other religions. That's their thing and I'm not going to impose my ideas or beliefs on anyone else.

As long as any denomination goes strictly by the book (bible) it doesn't matter. They must teach the Trinity (Father, Son and the Holy Ghost). If they start teaching about principalities (worldly opinions) it's time to go

It does not matter what denominational church you go to. Denomination are man-created and cause division among peoples and churches.

It is all a matter of the heart: God cares about the heart, not about the denomination.

personally i prefer catholicism because of its organized, mellow system, but all in all denomination doesnt matter, its the same God, denominations are just a reflection of man's inevitable disatisfaction with any established order. When some got tired of Catholicism, they Protested..protestants...some crazy king (henry VIII) wanted to be able to divorce his wives, so he crated the Anglican church, people got tired of the lax nature of that and separated..Puritans and on and on and on!! as long as its dedicated to the supreme God, the denomination doesnt matter, simply personal preference.

I think it does, yes. But I'm Catholic. I'm supposed to believe that all members of ALL Protestant religions are in danger of going to hell. I don't think I actually believe that, but there are definitely some denominations I'm slightly more wary of.

What I think is always my opinion. . . but that is neither here nor there.

It does matter - at least to me. I would be nothing other than Catholic. I know that the Church has the fullness of the teaching of Jesus and IS the Church that Jesus established when he gave Peter the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Yes, it is very important.

I am an LCMS Lutheran. I believe in the Sacraments much differently then you do. I believe that faith is ONLY the work of God, and not a choice made by man.

These differences, as well as worshipping in a liturgical setting are very important differences as we do not hold to the same doctrines and are not united in our faith.

In my opinion, it should not matter. I'm what you would call a non-denominational Christian. I feel that what's in your heart and how you treat others matters more to the Almighty than what particular church you belong to.

'Nuff said?
