You will still need to qualify and Social Services will need to do all the necessary checks on you. Having so many children yourself should count in you favour as you have obvious experience. find out from you local council.

it wont automaticaly give you the qualificatoins to do it professionally but it may help you to take the higher child care course, i skipped the nvq2 and went straight to the nvq3 in early years care and education course in the uk as i had 2 kids already, also it depends what sort of child care you want to do.... in schools , pre schools, after school clubs etc they all accept different levels of child care qualifications and some will accept you on a training scheme and train you along with a college while you work some will pay you some will want you there voluntarily but if you take a child care course you will be expected to do at least 10 hours on site training somewhere, good luck if you decide to go for it! :)

Does it automatically qualify you to be a child carer? No
It may help you understand and be more patient with childern but you still have to get a degree to do it professionaly or to be "qualified"

It depends on what child care you go into. really you need quailifications. to be a nursery nurse you need to to a course called "Diploma in Childcare adn Education". For a teacher's assistant you need to do a "teacher's assistant" course. And for childminding you need to be registared if you registar first for £14 you may be able to do the childminding course for free.
