It's a kitten and he got stuck under our house and his mom left him there. He's been living under our house and now he came inside and is hiding under our fridge.. how can we get him to come out and how can we get him to let us feed him and pet him? We leave him food but he's too scared

He's made that spot his sanctuary, hes safe. but You need to get him out from under there. Just reach in and pull him out. Then take him to your bathroom (as small a room as possible) and set him down and leave him alone. He'll sniff his way around the room to familiarize himself with it. wait about a half hour or so and go in calmly talking to him and set down some food and water and a small litter box, gently put your hand as close to him as he'll allow, and let him sniff you. Then walk away. Do that every half hour or so for the first day or two that you have him. Eventually he'll trust you and the bathroom will be his safe haven, until he gets to know you and is safe he'll venture out into other parts of the house. Remember he's just a little guy in a HUGH world, you need to make him feel safe, first. Dont worry he won't starve to death if he doesn't eat, just leave him plenty of water. Good luck.

I don't know about sticking your hand under there like someone said, kittens can tear you apart if they are terrified. You can borrow a trap from a local animal organization and I would probably cover it so it looks dark and safe just like under that fridge. As for food, I would put canned chicken or tuna in there, cats love that. Another one that is good is chicken or turkey baby food, the meat only ones. They love that too, vets recommend that when your cat is sick and won't eat. If you do want to pull him out I would put on leather gloves or something tough that his claws and teeth can't penetrate! Be careful about moving fridge too much to, you could hurt him. When you do get him out, put him in a room by himself for 3 or 4 days and visit him with love and treats a few times a day til he gets used to you. Ferral kittens are pretty easy to socialize. It just takes love and patience. You may have to get him out on your own if you have too much trouble finding a trap. Just protect yourself, and remember he is scared! He could end up being the best pet you ever owned! :) As for getting a disease from him like someone said, that is VERY rare. It is very highly unlikely that a human will get a disease from any pet.

this is so sad. set a safe animal trap baited with wet cat food and you can catch him that way . maybe animal control will help you or loan you a cage. cats come out when everything is still. Probably at nite. set the cage by the fridge and if u catch him leave him be until he calms down. he is probably a ferrel kitty and he will hiss and spit. Is the mother wild or a stray? they have to learn to trust because he has never been handeled. kittens should be touched softly and stroked daily after birth to socialize them so they will be friendly and trust people.if momma is wild she has taught him to fear to take care of himself.

Put out wet food and water at all times and a litter box. Cats instincts tell them to go in te litter. I'm sure while everyone is asleep that cat is roaming around your house. Eventually it will become comfortable and start to be less timid. Then you can make the choice to adopt it and bring it to the vet for all it's shots and vaccinations. I think you could give him/her a nice home! Don't forget to spayed or nueter!!! As Bob Barker would say!

Usually with strays it just takes time. Keep leaving little pieces of food in his sight out on the kitchen floor. Try not to bother him too much, but always and only use soft voices around him. Just be careful with the wild cats cause of the countless diseases they could carry.
Being gentle and patient is always the best policy with kittens.

Cats like going where food & water are. If the cat knows they are Outside, it will probably figure out the pattern. It does take feral cats, cats not used to people, some time to trust them. The trick is to try to act normal & not give it too much direct attention at first.

If hes only two weeks old he probably isn't even ready to eat on his own. He willneed to be feed with a bottle. Use KMR. Just pull the fridge out and get him.

Poor little tyke. He will probably come out. Canned kitten food is the best to tempt him -- cats naturally take to meat and that is the best diet for him anyway.
Do you have other cats as they might be scaring him too?

It took me weeks to get two stray kittens to get close enough for me to touch them. They were dumped behind a liquor store's dumpster, but with patience and food, they finally came around. I avoided sudden moves and always spoke to them in a soft voice. Gradually they allowed me to touch them as they ate, and finally when they saw me coming they would run out of the bushes, wait for their food, and when their tummies were full, they would roll on their backs just out of my reach, like they were teasing me. Finally one day I decided to actually scruff one of them. The kitten let me hold it for only a short time, but each time it got longer.
So be patient, provide food and fresh water for him, and in time he will come around. If you can find a low cost or free neuter program, consider taking him so he can get vaccinated and keep him from making more kittens under your house.

go under your house and set a LIVE trap (it doesnt kill it it just shuts it in a cage like thing) and when it is caught bring it into the house, feed it, and it will get used to you and your family! the live trap will not harm the cat in any way!
