My wife died when my daughter was very young, six at the time, and I raised her myself.
What I ended up doing was waiting until her bedtime to focus on my art. That meant giving up watching television or reading books, but I got used to it and learned quickly how much I didn't miss tv. I averaged six hours of sleep a night back then because I still had to get up early, get breakfast and get her off to school. And I still had to go off to work every day.
The weekends, of course, were easier.
I'm sure it must be hard for you but never give up your love for art. If you have to put it off a few years I'm sure you'll make up that time later. Once they're out of diapers and into school it will get easier.
Hang in there.

With small ones, I had to put up a gate, blocking the door to the room my easel was in. But it was still next to impossible to find the time or the energy. My solution was to nap during their afternoon nap so that I would not be too tired at their bedtime and be able to spend an hour or more with my paints after they were asleep. I also learned (the hard way) that the more of a daily routine I stuck to the easier it was to handle the kids and still find time for myself. Hope this helps.

Kids first, painting second. When the kids go down for a nap or out to play, why not paint? But, don't put painting ahead of your family. Also, do all the painting where the kids can't get into it.

Hey, I've talked over the net to a woman from Georgia on a fanclub website that is a FANTASTIC painter. She' s got several kids that she has to run everywhere, her usual household duties, and whatever else she can fit in her day, and she still has the time. It you have a gift, then MAKE time.

you might want to wait until the infant is sleep and you could try including the 2 yr old like give them their own child paint kit to work along side you
