u should just tell her everything...just tell her the truth.that would probaley be the best thing 2 do since u said that u guys r both very close
and also since ur an adult she shouldnt have 2 much of a problem with it

Well if you are close with your mom then you know that you just have to be honest with her. She will probably express her concern about you meeting some random stranger, but let her know that it'd be the same if you just met him in a bar or something. You are seeing him, to get to know him better. You have to tell her, cause when you get back you'll be more comfortable telling her how it went, for the good or bad. It might be nice if you tell her, then ask for her opinion on what you should wear.

Tell her that the two of you talked on the internet and that you are meeting in person for the first time. Make up an excuse but think carefully about it so that it would be a success. That is what I' ve done with my parents but I know it is not easy because my parents are so smart they already know my excuses and they caught me. Oh well hope it works for u.
