How much will braces cost in California? I want to get regular ones not the visilin. I have medical but I don't think it will cover any thing, because braces is considered a beauty thing its not necessity. You can stretch the payments right ?

it really depends on the orthodontist. i am in florida and i am shopping around for braces too. ive found that an orthodontist down the street can cost $500 cheaper. you have to consider the location. the more expensive orthodontist has his office in a very big medical building that must have very expensive rent, and he also had a large staff. so my fees were higher. the other one was in a shopping center, smaller staff, but just as professional.. and way cheaper.

they give you monthly payments but it depends on your duration of treatment. my treatment is going to be around 2 years so they stretched my payments for 26 months. so i pay about oh say $148 per month with everything included (emergencies, ect). they dont have you pay everything all at once because what if you have to move and you have to continue treatment elsewhere?

look for orthodontists near you and phone them up. they usually give free consultations. i suggest going to at least three before you settle on one.

to give you an idea. the first orthodontist gave me the price of $5035. the second one's price was $4480. the third one's appointment is coming up. hope this helps. good luck.

I paid 5 grand for Invisalign braces. I've heard from other people their metal braces cost just as much if not more.
