Don't fuss too much. A one-year-old is incapable of appreciating the significance of a birthday, and if you throw a big party she'll probably just get confused or upset by it. First birthday parties are for everybody EXCEPT the baby. Keep it small and simple.

Great gift idea... one of those collapsable nylon tube tunnels. My one-year-old daughter got one for her birthday and absolutely loved it from day 1.

If you are having other youngsters over for the party, it depends on how old they are. Kids love a pinata, or pin the tail on the donkey. Another fun game I remember was to get a glass milk bottle, and try to drop clothes pins inside. Another fun thing I did when my daughter turned one, is to place her birthday cake in front of her, and let her do her thing....mess?? so what...it was her fun she had with her cake. (you might want to make her own smaller cake to mutilate).

Anything that interests her. What stuffed animals does she have? Things that keep her interest. Enjoy the party!

My daughter is turning 9 in November and she just loves parties.

bake a nice cake for one thing. not too much icing though. and vanilla ice cream on the side. for games youi could always dress up as a clown or set a bunch of pillows down and just ur daughter and her friends hang out. all you need is a few toys and LOTSA pillows. and kids their age will enjoy it prefectly. GOOD LUCK

singing, kids love to hear singing at that age. They don't do too much following others at the age of one , they just like to play with the paper and boxes. They don't understand pin the tail on the donkey, or who took the cookie from the cookie jar, or musical chairs yet. but they will love the ice cream and cake !

Fill a room or outdoor crammed with balloons and enable the little ones pass wild in them. they'll like it, I even have carried out it countless circumstances in our basement. sturdy for each age, in basic terms watch the smaller ones if bigger teenagers are enjoying too.
