Our pets need quality pet food. Read the ingredients list and learn what the stuff on there is and what it does (or does not do) to/for our pets. A quick pet food 101. If the pet food contains corn/corn products or by products it is a poor quality food. Do not pay attention to advertising, they all say there food is great. Corn is a filler that can trigger skin problems. (allergies, skin problems, itching and excessive shedding) By products is anything from an animal not fit for human consumption, including cancerous tissue. Quality foods have meat as the first ingredient. California Natural, Solid Gold, Innova and Merrick are a few of the best brands available. I don't know if this is the best food nutritionally for cats but my cats adore the food "kit n' kaboodle". It is made by the Purina company. They will not eat other brands. It comes in a huge bag and you should be able to find it at Petco or a similar store.

Let your cat be the judge. Read the ingredients on the package and purchase small amounts of several kinds of food that you feel would provide the best dietary nutrients for your cat. See which one the cat enjoys the most then purchase that food in bulk.

The way you can check if a brand of food is good is to look at the ingredients. Meat, whether it be chicken, beef, turkey etc.. should always be first on the list. Whatever is listed first, is the main ingredient of the food. If you can afford it, vets have the best food.

Taste of the wild and it is rated 4 stars. Both of my kittens and my adult do great on it. I would love to raw feed both my dogs and my cats but I am just not able at this time but later in the future I am def planning on it. They will get water added in to make it wet or they will get Blue Buffalo wet food either or.

Nutro Natural Choice. My cat vomits the Iams, and this is a high quality one that she likes.

Thanks b.w. you saved me a lot of typing.

Cat nutrition is my particular "schtick". The foods mentioned by other posters are not worth the bags they come in.

I do not think Petco carries any of the really high-quality foods.
