Dear fellow brothers and sisters;Thank you for your sincere answers to my Q;Muhammud,Ishmael !I have another Question for you; What happens to the spirit of a young man when he is taken away from his Father (Abraham),replaced by another son (Isaac) and I would suggest, poisened by his mother Hagar. How would this catastrophic event in a boys life effect his ability to believe as his father Abraham must have instructed him in his youth. Would not a hardening of his heart and mind occur, even though his belief in God remains intact and strong, his ability to believe as his father had instructed him had been torn out of him. His Spiritual Foundations have been hardened ! I am not saying these words to offend , but for us all to over come !

The Bible never mentions anything about enmity between Isaac and Ishmael.

It never infers any such thing either.

Go read your Bible again.

Stop infusing Islamic mythology into biblical history.

Isaac was the child God promissed. Ishmael was the son of an egyption maid servent because sarah didn't believe God the she would bare this child. Ishmael knew that Isaac was the chosen child and taunted him. For this cause mother and child were cast out.

This was the will of god and Ishmaels children worshiped multipul Gods even into 1300 years ago Genies and Gins etc. even unto the moon God (Allah) the Son Goddess and the 3 daughters of Allah. Not the God of Abraham , Issac and Jacob.

I think the word your are looking for is strengthened not hardened.
I will give you a life example I have had 5 people die in my family this year one of them just yesterday. I have lost my job, my mother is ill I am ill my son is struggling with an ongoing disability. But I am not hardened I am straightened Because of how I believe.

P.S.
I hate the term mythology! We all believe in the same God it's the little stuff we fight over. And I bet that if people didn't belittle other peoples beliefs we wouldn't war so much!
