I am so disappointed! For our anniversary he wanted to get me the box set of Family Guy! I want an engagement ring. We have been talking about marriage for so long now I thought that was what his surprise was going to be. I dont want to force him into marrying me, but I am also getting tired of waiting. I have my whole wedding planned out, even the date picked out. We also have a 2 year old son. What is wrong with him??>>

Sometimes you just have to be blunt with guys because they're not mind readers. Tell him that you really want to get married soon, but that you're not trying to pressure him. Who knows, maybe he's just nervous about asking you. If it has been another year though and he has not come around yet, I would give him an ultimatum.

Did you guys already have the 4yr? Because if not the whole family guy thing might be to distract you from what he might do. If not maybe he isn't ready for the full commitment. The thing that sucks for some guys they have dumb assss friends that tell them not to get married until the truly have to. Other wise maybe the time just isn't ready for him. Money, is also a big factor. I wouldn't get upset marriage is for the rest of your life.. You have time.. But what do i know im 22 single and loving life;) But if I was with a girl for 4 years she would have a ring on that finger for shire.

dont hate on him maybe he wants it to be a surprise and since you were going to expect it hes planned on a different day to ask you patience if the year doesnt end with a bang give him a scare pack up your stuff and your son and leave just for a few days if he runs to you he loves you then tell him the only way to get me to come home is with putting a nice rock in my finger or tell him sex is off limits till you have a legal document stating you two are legally married hope my advise4 helps a bit

Nothing is wrong with him; give him time. The fact that you already have the whole wedding planned doesn't help. Back off and I guarantee it'll happen sooner. You're making him fill pressured, and men hate that. If both of you aren't ready when you do get married, it will end badly.

just got married in april after 4 years have a 3 yr old i kept thinking we have to get married blah blah blah but you know what the only thing that has changed is we are depper in debt due to the wedding....just enjoy each other everything else will fall into place...BUT if he gets you that DVD set hit him with it...4 years is a long time you deserve something better than that..good luck

I know someone who's boyfriend will not marry them . They have 3 children together and have been together for about 5 or more years. Sometimes they just need a little push. Sit down with him and tell him how disappointed you are and how you really want to be his wife.

some times men don't feel the need to get married if the woman is already playing the part of a house wife. you need to step back a little and stop being the nice girl that u are meaning stop giving him what he want's and next time when he say why u did'nt do the laundry say (oh i was saving that for marriage).lol

Maybe he wants to wait for the right time. Are the two of you secure financially? If not, maybe he wants to wait until you can afford the weddinf you've always dreamed of. Don't worry. If it's really meant to be, then eventually he'll ask you. Maybe he wants to wait for another day, just out of the blue, when you least expect it. It could be a million different reasons.
Just be patient. It'll happen eventually.

Obviously your first mistake was giving it up before you got married, putting the cart before the horse. Now four years is a very long time; if he won't commit, maybe it's time to move on. You may have a hard time explaining to your son your mistake about not giving him a legal father.

He could just be waiting for the right time, I know a friend has expecting a ring on Valentines Day and she got it for Christmas... he could be sacred....most men are chicken, what if you ask him, go get him a ring and propose to him then he'll know you're serious and ready to get married.
