disagree.

religion started as a thin ray of hope in a very harsh world.

the ancient peoples needed something beyond their mortal lived to believe in just to keep going. in a world where 18 hours a day was farming, hunting and gathering food. and hopeing that noone stronger took it away from you.

religion brought celebration at least 13 times a year the Celts would celebrate. these celebrations became the foundation of a people.

I think that the downfall was when the Roman empire got ahold of Religion and found out that people would pay for it. after that they made tithing a standard.

a few crackpots felt that their way was the only way...(cant tax or tithe people that do not believe in your god) and decided to kill off everyone that did not believe in their specific god.

any tome that you try to tell someone what to believe you are asking for a fight and some people( no matter how well meaning)
just cant keep their beliefs to themselves...

religion is not a bad thing in my opinion.. ORGANISED RELIGION
surely is the work of the devil...(insert various fiend here)

nowhere in the bible or any text that i have read does it say that there is a 10% mortal life tax as an admission price to heaven.

i believe in many gods,,,,,, none of them charge me....and i am an ordained minister.....and i do not charge anyone for any services of religion... i do not feel that it is my right to charge for knowlege that was givven to me for free.

No the greatest was in the Garden of Eden when satan told Eve she would not die and be like God knowing good & evil. The stage is being set for 'scoffers of God' to be captivated by the anti-christ telling the same lie, you are all gods and will blasepheme God and many will fall for it.

I am highly spiritual and I agree with you. They still are. And don't you believe for a moment that today's religions all have the same god. If they did, they would all be telling the same story.

I disagree. I believe that the book "Origin of Species" is the greatest propaganda.

Absolutely. Religion is the single biggest, and most harmful, scam ever perpetrated on humans by humans.

The only miracle is the sheer number of people who bought into it.

Gods have been used for propaganda, though it is not the only function of promoting gods.

Agree. God is superstition, but it's a superstition that's been useful to governments and ambitious nuts.
